WWE 13 game thread

Played a bit of Attitude Era mode today. Really enjoying it. Hate the 'Attitude Era' moments though (which usually involve the ref being knocked out) because it can be really hard to set them up as you don't know what the moment is. Other than that, best story mode a wrestling game has had in years.

Also, my first try with Hell in a Cell ended up with Mankind throwing me off the top and through the announce table, which was more funny than annoying

**EDIT** - The guest referee mode is great. I was playing it with 2 mates over the weekend and it was some craic.

So I can only get storylines in universe if I download something and pay for it?

Just about to win the title as Mankind on Raw, hope they include the ridiculous pop that Austin got that was insane.

No you can unlock them in attitude era mode.

Man I can't believe that even the game is so PG now that they have to censor Stone Cold giving the finger and changed Austin V Kane's First Blood match to a Last Man Standing match.

As far as I can remember it was a first blood match when I played it. Maybe its because blood is turned off as a default? You might have to turn blood on first for it to be a first blood match?

Easily the best story mode in any WWE game. Love playing it, enjoying Universe mode as well, only seem to have 2 storylines a month in it but they are good storylines that carry through the month.

The cutscenes are pretty much the same as last years version tho.

I've been staying away from this thread like the plague since friday.
I misplaced a gift card for hmv that i had saved for a new release purchase and was flat out so pissed off that i knew it would frustrate me to come on the thread and hear how awesome it was.

But I picked it up last night after trading in what seems to be my entire collection of games bar 2 that i still regularly play and went home happy.


Hot dam what a game. Everything about it is better in nearly every way.
The animations are better, the set pieces of the arenas are so much better.
One thing that used to always annoy me about wwe games were when someone would make their entrance it would seem that they always began about 5 foot away from the tron. That distance was doubled if it was at a b-list ppv.
But it all feels so authentic with 13 that they are walking out from below the screen properly. The rest of the entrance movements themselves look a million times better too.
When someone is walking down the ramp they actually look like they are walking down that ramp in that arena. Where as before the stepping seemed out of time and the animations were a little stiff. Of course the lighting seems to also play a massive part because they hit the attitude era dark spot on too.
I was very worried there would be that fuzzy look to the crowd and generally anything in the distance that thq seem to love in past games but i havent seen it at all yet.


A few questions;
I've just finished the dx story and thought it could have been longer, is the rest of the stories the same length? (in play time)
Where is the create a belt section?
Can you still create your own show to run alongside raw and smackdown in universe mode?

I'm going to hammer through the attitude era and get every unlockable i can before going to universe yet.

All parts are in around the same length play time wise

Yes, I have WWE Main Event running on Wednesdays and WWE Saturday Morning Slam on Saturdays as well as Raw and Smackdown

But can you have your own roster on these shows?
Like last year i created CMW and scouted a lot of up and coming young stars (mostly ones i created) mixed with some mid carders from raw and sd and made my own brand.

Ah. Didn't know that. I didn't change any settings or anything, so it must be off by default. It was only when I played that match and it was LMS that I thought "Wasn't this a First Blood match?... They've taken blood out of the game?!" Then I got so outraged that I called my mother a c*nt.

Played about two hours of Universe mode last night.

For anyone wondering, ANY match picked as "Tonight's Highlight Match" will have some sort of storyline or event. Keep it going it will become a storyline.

I was playing a couple of matches as three different CAWs, a face superstar and a heel tag team.

• The Tag Team first faced Primo and Epico as a normal match, and then next week it became a highlight match as they faced each other separately.
• I won and after the match my CAW went for a chair to use on Primo, only for Epico to run in for the save.
• Next week I attacked Epico as he was making his entrance by running in through the crowd.
• The action switched to the other tag member against Primo and at the start of the match, both other tag partners walked down to the ring to be managers only for them to get sent to the back for kicking the crap out of each other.
• Tag match between the two teams, and my heel team attacked Primo and Epico as they were making their entrance. Having won the match, I got an extra 'win' scene where Cole and King were amazed that "these two had joined forces". (Now this could be because they were listed as Allies and then started teaming, but I had them as a Team all along anyway).

While this is all going on, my single superstar has gotten into a feud with Santino with sort of the same stuff happening, except one week where the fight started outside the ring. This lead to a Falls Count Anywhere and then the short feud seems to have ended in a cage match.

If you go to my wwe-title management-then click RB, you get custom title. You can then create a load of new title belts ( Nice feature)

Finished the attitude era stories last night, and started unlocking some of the off script superstars .. having trouble with The Godfather match. But I am enjoying the hell out of this game, and it's great looking into the unlockable section and seeing it fill up so well.

Have dipped into Universe mode, but to no great length, wanted to unlock as many people as possible before I get too deep into it.

Installed game, bought and installed Fan Axxess, installed online axxess, excited by range of modes and match types

Yup .. that's the one ...and have to hit Godfather's finisher on Animal too. And maybe win within 4 minutes (although I'm not sure about that).

Everytime I get close Animal manages a reversal and tags in Hawk. I'm sure I'll get it done after a few more goes. Will hopefully have the offscript challenges done tonight.

Haven't got that far. But how I would approach it would be jumping out of the ring at the bell and beating the sh*te out of Hawk. Injuring Hawk to the degree that it lessens Animals inclination to tag him and upping your momentum in the process to at least the signature stage then rolling back into the ring and then hit Animal with a signature then my finish. Significantly hurting Animal if not pinning him.

Downloaded Hashtag_Heel's CAW and paired us up for a Boards.ie stable. A feud has already started with another CAW tag team. Recording the outcome.

What is the total percentage of 'hit point ratio' that you guys are generally using for CAW's? It's a new feature so I'm not sure how much would be overpowered or too weak.

So, I went and got a new copy of the game today, exchanged it in the shop. Home again, try to customize a match in Universe mode and when I select the characters, it just stays on the loading screen. Music keeps playing, but this X is just onscreen and nothing happens. Anyone had this happen?

Is your xbox under warranty? Id bring it back and say you got a new game and had problems, returned it and got another copy but are having the same problems. Or ring microsoft. They can be helpful.
