Anyone else see Findlay forget her helmet?

She'll get a penalty for that I suppose.

One big pack on the bike I reckon

RTÉ really should have got someone who knows about triathlon to do commentary.

    Stick BBC on.

Two crashes on the same corner, bloody looked sore.

Edit, 2 more, what's going on there.

One of them looked like a chain problem locking the back wheel but still looks like there's somethign onthe ground there.

I think she just hit the brakes to avoid the faller infront and the rear wheel locked on her?

Why are they not using TT bikes?

Again, same corner, has to be oily or greasy?

Cant use proper TT bikes in a draft legal race.

Draft legal race so the long TT bars would be dangerous.

Thanks, the RTE commentator was saying no drafting and I was thinking that looks like drafting to me!

    No chance for Morrison now.

    Pity.

She came down on the 1st lap According to reports

Confirmed she had a fall at first corner.

    From TI
Confirmation from coach Chris Jones that Aileen came down on 1st lap of the bike on a slippy corner.

There's going to be a few questions about that corner after the race.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,910 ✭✭✭couerdelion

I didn't notice Hewitt was in the pack. Reckon she might sneak it.

Edit: Jesus! I've absolutely no idea who's going to get this. It could be anyone of 5-6.

a friend is standing near that corner and texted me to say it looked 'nasty'. but most crashes look nasty, i suppose.

Very disappointed for her. Hope she's not done any lasting damage.

4mins down on leaders after T2.

Others, including Noble came down on "that corner" last year didn't they? So it wasn't an unknown entity for organisers.

Hard to call the winner at this stage.

I was just about to ask where Findlay was but just seen that's she's being lapped.. It's gotta be between Densham & Jenkins now for gold. I can't see Hewitt hanging on for a medal.

Hewitt's been dropped on the run.

Sarah Groff coming strong, just passed Hewitt.

Findlay looked very upset. Gotta feel for her.

Shaping up to be a good finish.

    Jenkins dropped

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,330 ✭✭✭✭Amz

She wasn't looking as comfortable as the others in that lead group before being dropped.

Down to whoever has best sprint finish?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,593 ✭✭✭PWEI

    Spirig looking very strong

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,834 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

Brilliant, I thought Norden looked most comfortable from a few k out but would have felt sorry for Spirig if she lost gold there.
