The Amiga floppy drive is just a standard old school floppy drive though... easilly replaceable. The eject switch might not be as thick and awesome looking but it'd work, not worried about it so much.

Yeah it came with this controller:

The one on the left there anyway. Not sure if that's it's standard controller but that's what mine came with until I accidentally wrecked it trying to make it less stiff.

    inb4 that's what she said.

The drive is not the issue, its the original disks that die a death that brings a tear to the eye of any collector.
I honestly don't remember getting a joystick with any of my amigas when I got them new all those years ago.
I remember those joysticks and I have a bunch of them here but I thought I had to buy a joystick with my A500/A600/A1200 when they came out.

Sorry I got mine second hand and it already came with it, I didn't mean originally. Sorry for the confusion!

    Ah, that explains it.
I do like those joysticks though, I got a few originals and new USB versions a while back. And the gold 25th Anniversary competition pro. Pure tack but I had to have it :)

It is reasonably easy to replace, but the drives are specific to the Amiga. you can't generally just put normal PC floppy drives in them, unless they happen to have jumper blocks on them that let you change the configuration. It's not a straight swap for sure.

    Couple of bits today.

Very nice and white condition A600 case (a little dusty but no stains or marks on it and the badge even has the plastic protective film still over it).

Some more buttons to help me decide on which type to use on the Amiga 600 mod.
    dsc2490m.jpg

I'll probably end up using these buttons on the mod as they are small and wont stand out that much (compared to the temporary ones I've been using).
I might even be able to hide them in plain sight using some white sugru to cover them yet remain usable.
What I'm more interested in is why do you have a knife in the photo?
Did you kill the postman 'cos he was about to stick a "sorry I missed you, come collect your parcel" note in the letterbox...;)

Any PC floppy drive I worked with over the years used to come with jumpers as alot of the older (early 90s) machine used to have A and B drives... usually for setting master / slave for 5" drives and 3.14" drives.

It's a totally different set of jumpers you need. There's some stuff about it here http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?t=18582

Speaking of Amiga floppy drives, my external one arrived today (in a funky protective bubble container).

Ahh ok my apologies, I hadn't actually tried using a standard PC one in it (yet) but it looked exactly the same to me.

It's odd that they did that...

I know, it's a pain. My A500 floppy drive broke, and the proper replacement drives were always a lot more expensive than a PC replament part. I did have a drive with the correct jumpers on it but I never was able to get it working..

Sold the PS2 copy I had a while ago, but I never had this, the limited edition book that came with it. So I bought it anyway, to go with any future PCB purchase and to add to my Ibara collection anyway. :)

Is it an artbook or does it have any gameplay info/tips etc too? (You're not normally so scabby with the pics. :P)

HAH! It's more of a strategy guide with a smattering of art throughout. I think it's actually harder to find than the PS2 game as I think the book was only given away with a limited number of copies of the game.

And as we all know, the print run of the game was incredibly low as it is.

The killer punch though is each page has a full map of every stage, start to finish. Looks really cool and has some good diagrams in it.

I do miss my PS2 copy, as it has Ibara Kuro on it, aka the arrange version. Might pick it up again one day, but I would love the PCB first.

I'll have no idea mate, never used either of the two jamma carts, sorry.

That said, the 2009 version of the Blue Elf seems to have the reputation of being more reliable.

Cool, I'd love to see that.
Are the levels exactly the same as on the PCB version?

Yep, it's pretty much arcade perfect barring a few graphical hiccups and the revolting load times.

The maps aren't huge, they run down the side of the page. Though they point out key moments in each stage as well as ship positioning (I think, according to my rusty Japanese skills) and score tips.

Makes a nice compliment to my other book that came with the INH Lunatic Superplay DVD.

By the way, if anyone knows where to get the other figurines, besides Theresa, in the series, can you please point me in the right direction? I'd love a full set to display one day. :)

Is it rare or readily available, for a price?

It's expensive for what it is, just difficult to find for sale on it's own as you'd normally buy it bundled with the game. Took me a while to find one anyway.

Played it for about 5 minutes, then realised I didn't have the energy to get into a psychological horror type game :P

Thanks, I'll try to keep an eye out for it, happy fish v.1 is awful (about 40% of the games are playable) haven't tried v.2 yet but wary after the first one.
