The 3D version of Sonic is made by M2 so you know there's a lot of love and attention been put into emulating it accurately.

In fact they developed a new virtual Sega console to allow the games to play in 3D properly.
From M2’s standpoint, since we’ve gotten away from the original plan to emulate the game in 3D, and instead wound up creating an extension of the hardware spec that makes it easier to put MegaDrive games into 3D, we think of the GigaDrive as an ‘unofficial’ new SEGA console.
The specs are very clearly defined, and someone out there with enough skill could make probably make the same hardware. That’s the level at which we’ve built it. In other words, if you (virtually) popped in a GigaDrive cartridge, you could play Sonic in 3D, and if you took an old MegaDrive cartridge and put it in, you could play that too; we’ve built it with that type of cross compatibility in mind.
The GigaDrive supports backward compatibility with MegaDrive games (Unmodified MDROMs will run normally without modification)

So Steve, when can we expect our orders of the new Sega Gigadrive to be fulfilled? I'm sure you could put one together...

    :-)

I'm fascinated to see if they translate any N64 titles, like Blastcorp or Mario 64.

I find 2D suits 3D displays a whole lot better. I love seeing parallax layers with a 3D effect.

    Welcome(almost) to the club :)
You should download a few demos and the SDK and have it all ready for when it arrives. Make sure to setup a profile and configure all the settings when it arrives. A lot of people skip this bit and are missing out on the full effect in doing so.

Do you mind me asking where you purchased Need for Speed Rivals for 30? That's a great deal as it's 60 everywhere else.

Hmv. I got it in dundrum but I'm sure it's in all stores. Could also be €30 in xtravision as they're the same company as HMV.

I was also at a few Christmas Markets over the weekend, which I expected to be "Charity Shop Bonus Rounds" but there wasn't a even PS2 FIFA game in sight :(

HMV and Xtravision are the same company now? I had no idea... is that since they both went bust?

Hilco acquired them earlier in the year, the same crowd that took over HMV.

The whole forcing people to buy a game to honour their pre-orders of xbox one makes sense now:rolleyes:

Yeah I'll be doing the same on Gravity Rush.

Certain games you just have to own the physical copy.

Looking forward to the next Gravity Rush I must say.

Talking of physical copies I was actually really pleasantly surprised when I got my Wii U Lego City Undercover edition and it came with a physical copy.

I was expecting some code bullshi.t!

Lego City Undercover, thats another game I have to pick up.
It looked like Lego GTA, does it play that way?

Only got the Wii U yesterday and couldnt stop playing Rayman Legends tbh.

Havent even opened Lego City yet. Hopefully tonight.

Having looked at the reviews online it looks very like Lego GTA right enough. I assume it plays similarly. I've heard the loading times are awful though so hope its not that bad.

I have a short attention span and if something annoys me I give up fairly quickly. :o

I see Rayman Legends for the WiiU going for 25 in Smyths, is that the best price I wonder?
