Does anyone know if you don't do, or fail continuous assessments, can you make up the marks any other way? Most of the marks for my course are based on continuous assessments and seeing as I was missing from college for a few months I have no idea how to make up the marks. HELP

You can make up the marks in August, don't worry. Usually you'll have to do the continuous assessment again (the questions may be different) but sometimes the department just substitutes an exam for it instead. The best thing to do is ring your department and find out off them. If you were missing for a genuine reason i.e. illness, financial issues, difficult home situation then you may, if you can provide evidence, be entitled to resubmit the missed work without being capped. Started meetings and research in the first semester and dove properly into more research after January. Started typing when I was finished 'regular' college in April/May. It's due sometime in September/early October although I'm not certain there. I do indeed have all Summer to do it but why leave it lie around? I've nothing else to do and tipping away reduces the workload. Plus, I like doing the work. And lastly, early drafts of it will mean I can perfect it as much as possible. Mine's 20,000 words.

Two were due in January and my final two are due in a week. Hence why I haven't started on my thesis at all yet. I've been frying my brain ever since lectures ended trying to get these essays done. By the time August rolls around I'll have written approximately 45,000 words. Thesis is 20,000 too.

Worth around 45/50 per cent. It's an MA in History, specifically US foreign policy. Good luck with yours!
