Does he actually understand the issues may haps Joe... ask him if he grasps the full impact of the proposed changes to Article 29^4 10° The State may ratify the Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance in the Economic and Monetary Union done at Brussels on the 2nd day of March 2012. No provision of this Constitution invalidates laws enacted, acts done or measures adopted by the State that are necessitated by the obligations of the State under that Treaty or prevents laws enacted, acts done or measures adopted by bodies competent under that Treaty from having the force of law in the State.

Initially for advice, which Joe managed to make a heams of. Then Joe asked him whether his wife is alive, and he said no, so he asked him how he copes.

    Caller:"I can barely walk"

    five mins later

Joe:"Would you not like to get out in the sunshine and go for a walk"

    What an amateur.

Joe's concern for this chap is fair enough.

Pity about the countless forgotten Irishmen and women who lived and died out their lonely existances in the grotty bedsits around Kilburn, Cricklewood, Digbeth......

    WTF is that image of?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,425 ✭✭✭telekon

Joe: "You have no one that visits you, how does that make you feel?"

Old Man: "Well, my daughter was here this morning..."

Joe: "Don't mind her!! You're a lonely old man aren't you!! Tell my listeners you are depressed, miserable and have had enough of life..."

That's how I deciphered that conversation earlier.

Why should he be allowed to vote if I, as an Irish citizen born and bred, but living abroad, can't vote?

If he's resident here (and will be affected by the results), why shouldn't he be allowed to vote? He can vote in elections already

As for yourself not being able to have a postal vote, that's something else we can't do correctly in our little corner of the world. They can barely manage to cope with those who live on the islands just off the coast.
