Only two roads I would bother with cruise are Dub > Galway or Dub > Cork.

Most of the Motorways (bar the M1 and M50) and some of the larger N roads are perfectly cruise control friendly.

I know yeah, but with traffic you're braking all the time then re-activating. Actually the M1 would be fairly suitable too - no? What I meant was roads where you can pretty much bring her up to 80 and hold that for most of your journey.

M1 is fine for it. Use it on it every day.

Nobody is as daft as this guy constantly makes himself out to be. And all the "I'm only learning" lines do not excuse that.

    care to elaborate, mate? :)

Let's not go there man - you'll only get the thread closed again. ;)

How about you try googling some stuff before you ask the easy questions and come back for the more difficult ones?

I think you're an honest lad with good intentions, but use Google every so often. It can provide answers for many questions. :)

As far as I see there is no harm in that and I know myself and most others are more then happy to help with any questions.......but come on....you didn't know what a stereo was??

I know that man - to be fair boards motors is pretty easy going in relation to what some might see as 'dumb' questions being asked. On any other motoring forum you 'one' would get slated for asking inane stuff. People are very tollerant here but only have so much patience.

Lads, the whole point of us being here is to spread the knowledge.

Just to prove a point, my father who has 4 cars, was a mechanic and my whole family deal with cars day in day out.

    Me: What's a head unit?

    Dad: What? Head unit?

Well, the head is the head of the eng...

    Me: it's a stereo...

You don't have to answer question if you think they're silly. But ask and be a fool for a minute, don't ask and be a fool for ever!

Not understanding head unit...fine, and understandable...but stereo?? Its not a car term, every radio/cd player/tape player etc etc is known as a stereo...in your car, your house or wherever...

Anyway, @superstoner, you know now....but I'd have to suggest that you don't try and wire anything yourself.

i may be wrong, but i think the "Your actual stereo" was the bit that put him off.
