    Cgal,
Its really not worth driving uninsured. So many bad things can happen....
Firstly you could just get caught by the guards which would ruin you getting on the road for the foreseeable future which, when your obviously into cars, would be disastrous for you. But secondly and most importantly, you could end up having an accident, it happens and we never are expecting it btw, and you could injure or someone or worse and then your in SERIOUS trouble.
Could you even save the money you have made so far and buy name driver insurance or something like that?? You earned the money quite easily so really it should be easier for you to get on the road properly than most?? My first insurance policy was 3500 euros on a 1.4 polo, i just worked hard and got that year over with claim free and then watched the price tumble further down every year and now I have no bothers insuring anything I like with a reasonable price.
Anyway man, this is just a suggestion at the end of the day, its your own choice

Thanks. I went into that tire place beside Imports direct but they were a little too rich for my liking

Tyreland wouldn't be overly cheap either, they carry good stock and are good to deal with in my experience :)

Ah, well then I'll just ring them and get a price. Theres no point in getting down there only to find they're the same price as the other place.

Still in Galway, in Salthill :) Watched my lady (its easier to call her that :p) jump off the pier.... Terrifying to watch  I really like this place! Don't particurarly want to head back east tomorrow...

Car related: Anyone have any ideas as to why the electrics work now and again on the 406? Its very annoying, no sunroof, elec mirrors or passengers windows. Drivers window and heater fan work intermittently too :( battery light goes on when the passenger window is pressed... Doesn't come on when the key is turned to accessories either. Very very annoying

Well you might want to carry a fire extingusher from now on

Peugeot 406, particularly earlier models are prone to electrical nightmares leading to engines that don’t start and sometimes don’t stop, failed wipers, break lights staying on, random warning lamps and in the worst cases the car is completely destroyed by fire!

The wiring that exits the engine bay fusebox can chafe on the steel bracket that fastens the fusebox to the chassis leg. It would be worth protecting it with banding if it’s not already too late otherwise sections of this loom will need replacing.

Peugeot fitted harness connector joints under the drivers footwell carpet. This becomes a huge problem if the window is left open in a rain storm! The top of the carpet may appear dry however water collects in the foam beneath. The connectors now sat in puddles below the carpet start to short out leading to all manner of strange faults manifesting. Carpet must be lifted, thoroughly dried and any shorting contacts repaired.

The Bravo might be coming out of hibernation so eh?

I think I just had the easiest car sale ever, popped the EG on donedeal a week ago and had the usual offers of swaps for ****e (all vag and felted funnily enough) Today a lad phoned, came to view it and shook hands on it, he started it, took it for a 5 minute blast and fell in love. Now hes gone to get cash and just phoned me to say hes on the way back now

I've been offered €600 for the Astra by a guy down in Portarlington if I bring it down to him. Are there any tolls on the way down there?

    Thanks Gary..

Anyway, I'm gonna leave it. I could be wasting my time going down, he'll probably offer me silly money that he thinks I won't refuse because I've gone all the way down

I did find the carpet was damp (feck, double entandre :pac:) but I dried it out, cleaned the wires too. I really should have just tore out all the wiring and rewired it all up myself!!!

New cars are so hard to steal, they're robbing the parts from them, including the interior!

This guy had he's bucket seats, steering wheel and other bits stolen from his RS3, and to rub salt in the wound, they smashed his sat nav.

Jesus the rotten scumbags. Thats some car..
