Reuters reporting Poland coach Franciszek Smuda has revealed Robert Lewandowski is on his way to Man United.

hmmmm very interesting if true. I stuck up a post in the LFC superthread about a month or two ago about a report from Germany saying that United had made moves for him, Kagawa, and Hummels, so if he does go to United, and Kagawa has already signed, could that mean Hummels is on the way as well?

Hope not to be honest, as that would be a stunning set of signings for United imho especially Hummels and it would be a big chunk taken from the Dortmund team.

Fergies new plan. Just sign all Borussia Dortmund players. Subotic, Goetze and Piszczek on their way too :D

Apparently Smuda said Piszczek and Kuba would move away from BVB as well. Unless Dortmund have more deals like Reus up their sleeve then they won't sell four of their best players in one window.

If that was his plan, it would not be a bad one to be fair.

Kagawa is an excellent player who will only get better.

Lewandowski if he arrives will suit United's style of play imho.

Plus if they got Hummels they would be getting a 23 yo who is, imho, already one of the top three centre backs in Europe right now, who would add so much to United and not just in terms of defensive play. Hummels passes the ball better than most midfielders and would add a level of being able to play the ball from defence that very few teams have.

I'm calling BS on that. Lewandowski.. maybe as his agent is a tool. Hummels, not a hope.

A good Polish friend of mine who works in the football media over there posted this..
To be fair, Smuda's words on Lewandowski going to United are not seen as a story in Poland. Can't see anything on it.

Could well be a BS report but they did list the three players a month or two back as being three that United had made contact over and that United had made an offer on.

I would prefer not to see Hummels go to United as he would add too much to them for my biased liking. But if he were to leave Dortmund, then it will only be to a team that can afford a huge transfer fee for him.

He won't be going. The thought hasn't crossed my mind whatsoever and will not.

My last post was tongue in cheek obviously but if United were to sign the 3 you mention I wonder would Klopp follow next summer?

Didnt Hummels sign a new contract in the last week or two??

He signed an extension onto his current contract at the start of June.

I know it is highly unlikely that he will move, but I just found it interesting that three Dortmund players were openly named on 90elf a month or two ago as having had offers made for them by Man U, and one is now a United player, the second is being strongly tipped to be a United player within a month, so it just had me musing on whether United would actually try for the most difficult of the three to get (and the best of the three).

They wont be going anywhere for three reasons:

    They are happy.
Dortmund do not have to sell anyone.
Man U aren't that much better.

    I wouldn't say they're better at all.

Well...Borussia Dortmund won the double this year, compared with how many titles for United? :P

Anyway, the Polish coach only estimated, that those two players might leave Borussia Dortmund some day, according to my sources in Germany.

I know, United almost won the EPl-title, but then came injury time, and me loosing 50 quid, which I had on a draw :(

Anyway, you got Kagawa, he is worth every penny :)

Wouldn't be a bad signing for anyone.

    Still a very good player.

I reckon he's off to Brazil though, his missus is homesick.

It seems like every day someone is asking this? Are they not allowed have some squad depth?

Well it doesn't help when Newcastle themselves admit it could happen

    http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/120608/man-city-step-pursuit-napoli-striker-173963

Manchester City are hoping to finalise a move to sign Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.
Cavani, 25, is rated one of the best strikers in Europe and has been earning rave reviews in Serie A.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is looking to bolster his forward line as uncertainty surrounds the future of Edin Dzeko.
Reports in Italian newspaper Il Mattino claim Manchester City have already made an offer to Napoli and want to open talks with the Uruguay international.
The Premier League champions are prepared to offer him a lucrative five-year deal.
Cavani is also attracting interest from Juventus, but he could be tempted to make a move to England and play in the Champions League next season.

He must be a good pal of Lewandowski's advisor, who spreads some rumors for a good while now...at least 6 months or so, linking him to Bayern Munich, ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal...
