Getting a bit heated there towards the end of that round - didn't look happy with each other at all as the bell rang

He'll lose on points but it has been far closer than Money wanted.

No chance he'll risk Pacman now

Never said he'd win but its clear that Mayweather struggled against a fighter that is past his best.

Great fight. Cotto just didn't have enough left to really take it to Floyd in the late rounds. Some great rounds, great exchanges, the most action packed Mayweather fight I think I've seen.

Passed his best?...Cotto is 31, Mayweather is 35. I know Cotto has been in more wars than Mayweather, but 31 is not "passed it" by any means. Cotto fought well, but he was beaten by the better fighter.

I woke up still feeling a buzz from that show last night. Superb fight, and a great night for boxing. Despite losing, Miguel Cotto enhanced his legacy last night. He also secured both his own and his family's future and you hope he'll never have to worry about money again, but the nature of his performance was such that he is still going to have the option of making megafights should he be so inclined. Certainly, he and Sergio Martinez at 154 would fall into that category.

As for Mayweather, he responded to adversity last night and it has to have been the toughest fight of his career. You probably couldn't go as far as calling it a war, it was the closest thing to a war that Floyd has been in for some time, perhaps ever. Yet for all Cotto threw at him he was still strong and composed in the championship rounds and he closed the show like the champion he is.

Interesting to hear him call out Pacquiao again. Good to know he's at least taking the possibility of that fight seriously on some level.

As I said after the Ortiz fight, Floyd is noticeably past his best and is there for the taking.

It was a very enjoyable fight. Floyd clearly dominated but the rounds were alot closer than I was expecting.
Cotto was also able to clearly dominate one of the rounds which is something you don't expect to see against Floyd.

I think Cotto has a little more left and Mayweather has a little less left than I thought. It was a somewhat competitive fight though and great to see fighters of their skill level mix it

I enjoyed the fight, and to me Floyd looked as sharp as ever. Strange, Floyd is older and I always maintained that he is slipping, but last night I thought he looked big, strong, heavy handed, very fit, and very sharp.

Good fight. Cotto's problem was that he was too slow to pull the trigger. He would get close, do nothing, and Floyd unloaded most of the time. It was like Cotto feared that if he missed, he gets whacked, and was concentrating too hard on trying to open up when it was all perfect.

While I'm not sure Floyd is still at his best at 35, I think those who said Floyd's legs are gone should reassess their opinion. I was impressed with cotto's endurance, he did seem to get rocked in the 12th but overall I thought he was about as good as I've seen him.

I have never heard such ass licking from a commentator as I did from the Colonel. I like Sheridan, but almost had to mute him. Even when Cotto was doing good work, Sheridan couldn't wait for it to finish so he could go back to ass licking Floyd.
