I see Floyd has acknowledged what a lot of us are already thinking, 24/7 is getting boring - http://www.badlefthook.com/2012/4/29/2987033/floyd-mayweather-unhappy-with-hbo-24-7-quality-producers-mayweather-vs-cotto-hbo-boxing-news

"I want to apologize to all my fans and viewers who watched 24/7 last night. I wasn't pleased with this weeks episode of 24/7. Me and my film team are providing Bentley Weiner with exciting content which she is not using. We really needed the producers from Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 to come back to HBO give the fans and viewers more excitement."

I thought the latest episode was particularly weak, but this whole run has been the same old thing we've seen countless times before. Camp has a fun day out, camp cooks dinner, Mayweather goes shopping..

It's tired as hell, and although they'll undoubtedly cap it off with a wonderfully produced outro montage next week, it still won't paper over the cracks. For my money, Fight Camp 360 is a much better show because they don't try so hard to force a narrative onto everything and they just let people be themselves. The super six series, despite involving a lot of fighters you wouldn't be particularly interested in, was way more enjoyable to watch. Hopefully Mayweather's criticism will get a response at HBO.

So the fight is only on Boxnation? Any idea how much?

They advertise as 10 sterling per month. So, maybe 12-13 euro.

ive said before i dont want to see Mayweather lose because i want to be able to say i saw the best ever.

Not even close man. Top 50, yeah, sure. Nowhere close to GOAT status though.

but im taking that back now. He's such a classless human being, i dont think there'd be anything more pleasureable than seeing him on his arse in the middle of a ring. He's an absolute pric

    What did he do now?

    24/7 has been pretty boring
i would like if they went into a bit more depth into the actual training

    What did he do now?

you know what he's like, flaunting all his money. Slagging off anything do with Cotto.

He may well be the most talented fighter the world has ever seen. but he's still a classless human being

I worry for Cotto in this one, he's had some really punishing bouts in the past few years.

If Mayweather decides to turn it on then this could be ugly.

Most of his antic's are all about marketing, Attention sell's tickets and he grab's your attention, He paid for Joe Frazier's funeral and had no reason too, he also paid for "Chicanito" Hernandez funeral, He also paid the $50k medical bills to give a baby with heart defects surgery and never highlighted the fact, right now he is sponsoring the Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing tournament-he also get's his team to do regular soup kitchen runs and is meant to give lots of toys to charities at xmas etc...

in some ways he comes across bad but to say he is classless is wrong, plenty of class in all them acts up above and apparently there is many more such things he does like these that go unnoticed as in most cases the press find out from the receivers and not from him or his team.

Floyd isn't all bad, not many people are. But, he does for the most part come across as pure trash. The 24/7 series has become very predictable. Wasn't Floyd quoted as saying as much? He hasn't been happy with the show this series.

He's not that good of an actor.

You'd have to be very naive to not see that a lot of Mayweather's antics are for the purposes of marketing himself, but you'd have to be equally naive to not see that a large part of it is just who he is.

I would tend to agree. The guy is acting up a little, but a lot of it is just the way he is. I don't dislike the guy, though. I think he has a good heart, just that his ego is out of control.

He beat the **** out of his girlfriend. In front of her children. For which he commences a jail term in a couple of weeks... Debate over. Like what more do people need? Why is it the #moneyteamfags never so much as mention this fact when they're blindly defending his character on here/elsewhere?

For the record Paul I'm not including you in that, you just so happened to have made an objective point to that effect this time round. Where I think you're wrong/naive however is that sporadic white knight gestures (PR, conscience-fueled, or otherwise) don't negate acting like a ****ty person on a daily basis. You're supposed to live your life that way, not just throw money at things occasionally to restore the cosmic balance. I got fairly tired a good while ago of the "most people think the way I act on 24/7 is the real me" card he trots out as a get out of jail free.

A stand out example of his character for me was his webcam session with "the troops" in the middle east, maybe 2 or 3 24/7's ago. Once he realised he hasn't a single thing to contribute to any conversation, or any frame of reference for what they do, he basically just walked his laptop around the house and showed them his mansion, belongings, and cars for the majority of the call. Because he likes to "do that for the troops" etc. I remember just laughing at how little he "gets it", while he's showing them watches worth their annual 40k salary that they most likely had no option but enlisting for, all while defending his "freedom" in the firing line. He's like a child king or something.

I don't consider this classy in the slightest by the way. Why not just do it behind closed doors if you're doin it for the right reasons and leave it to the Frazier's to publicize it? I thought it was fairly cringey/poor taste myself, hogging headlines off the back of the death of a great.

I agree, and really, it's only money. I mean, Floyd wins thousands a day at the races and in the casinos. Loose change. Nice thing to do, but I wouldn't be so sure of the sincerity behind these kinds of acts.

Excllent post. People seem to forget this obvious fact that he bashed his missus. Seriously, we're now defending world champion FIGHTERS that beat women up??

The live weigh in is on boxnation from 2230 hrs on Friday!

I am getting excited for this match. Think it makes for a good scrap, one that Floyd does win, and well!

Looking forward to it as well. Really hope Cotto brings a performance. Really hope he's still got that killer instinct in there somewhere.

If Cotto's gonna win he's going to have to knock him out, so Mayweather on points sounds a steal.

Looks like you can get Boxnation once you already have Sky - for €12.50 p.m. and no set period - so does anyone know if it's easy to just cancel your subscription after the month? And is it hassle free to sign up to / get? I'd only really be getting it for this fight...

    Thanks
    Simon

No. That result would have to see Floyd put on a ssrious beating for 7 rds. Floyd isn't terribly offensive, is cautious, and picks his shots. Now, he could score a ONE punch KO, but that would really surprise me.

Cotto is no dummy, and won't be battered without retaliation or without defending. Cotto has lovely feet and movement, boxes very well on the back foot too. Not that he will be boxing this way in this fight.

I see a beat down over 12 rds, with Floyd staying two steps ahead. Not a bating, just a steady beat down and winning the rds by landing that bit more all the time.

It goes 12 I feel, unless Floyd really goes for it, plants the feet and unloads, and is successful in doing so. Like I said, Cotto can move and run and defend pretty well.
