I think it's a straight fight out between Wiggins and Evans.

In relation to Sagan, he has had a phenomenal year so far. He will be fighting against Cav for the green jersey. He should be particularly prominent during the first few stages which have a lumpy finish. He's also not bad at short TT as the Tour due Suisse showed. He'll lose bucket loads in the Alps and Pyrenees though.

In fairness to him, he does say it's the first time "back to back". I'd imagine that they've analysed the stages where the race will be won and lost already. Similarly Cavendish wouldn't bother doing any serious work on the finishes to mountain stages - I doubt that it's the first time he's seen the stages themselves, just the first time he's seen them laid out in day by day order.

Hmm, you might be right but from what I've read he seems to put an exceptional amount of faith in the guys who work with him.

Funnily enough, my son wanted a magazine on the flight over here and he decided to buy the official Tour Guide so I had a look at some of the stages in there. "It’s my way of not looking too far ahead. I’ve recce’d some of the key climbs but I couldn’t tell you what stages they were. I try to take things day by day and it’s a little bit like a jigsaw that fits together gradually, piece by piece. "I haven't had much input into the squad we take. We have a selection panel who are in charge of picking the team and they’re looking constantly at everyone’s data – who’s doing what, how they’re performing, where they’re at. With Cav stating that he is unlikely to put 100% effort into winning the green jersey, who's going to be the top sprinter? Sagan is making his TdF debut but he is the man on form.

Also, this should help Wiggins as the Sky train won't be leading out Cav for the sprints.

If you're really feeling nostalgic ESPN Classic which is free on Sky (429) and NTL I think is showing old stages of the TdF every evening at the minute. watched Pantanni win on Ventoux in 2000 a couple of night ago.

They are running the highlights package every night and its also repeated each morning. The live coverage only kicks in once their Wimbledon Beo is finished from Monday July 9th onwards, but there is live TDF coverage on Sunday 1st July as well. I think Wimbledon takes a break on that Sunday barring weather disruptions

Happens quite a lot with sport on ITV4 with UPC. Its presumably to do with broadcasting rights in Ireland and I've seen that notice for Rugby, Tennis and Motorsport. Looks like you need a refresher course sa teanga oifigiúl:D

If you have a SKY box this can be circumvented but not AFAIK with UPC

Yeah it always happens with any sport on ITV3/ITV4 on UPC I'm afraid.

Your options are, as already mentioned, TG4, or subscribe to the Eurosport Player for July. I think it's around €5. It's well worth it imo. You can then watch it on your laptop or connect your laptop to a TV if you have the proper cable. Eurosport Player streams Eurosport HD too!

If you know someone who has Sky and the sports package, then you could ask them if you could login into their Sky Go account and you can watch Eurosport live.
