Squad players can be duds. Your consistent first teamers cannot. I'd argue a few of those above too, especially Sissoko.

is the whole point in bringing in "squad" players not to improve the quality and depth of a squad????? Doesn't make them any less poor signings as they obviously did not improve the quality of the team or squad.

For 10 or 15 minutes in a big game to change it or more against weaker teams perhaps.

Not the same first team being picked and failing against both and nothing changing.

I'm unsure of whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.
They have played some excellent football this season.
he has had to cope with a declining and often absent, often abject, Steven Gerard. Carragher is gone. He had to rebuild the side.
Having to play almost all new signings most of the time hasn't helped. Ideally, you'd like to phase them in one or two at a time. He hasn't had this luxury.

However, the results have been turgid. They have scored less goals than a relegated team. Most of his signings have been a let down.-
Spending 35 million on Carroll while Newcastle have picked up 2 top class strikers for a song has highlighted that there is a major problem between recognising potential and recognising achievable potential.

He's won a cup and been sacked which seems harsh. But the team finished eighth. In truth, it may not be a bad time to go before he completely destroys his legacy.

Fergie didnt have to do anything, LFC and Kenny did all the damage to themselves and stopped short of blaming Evra just for being black as an excuse for what had happened! (how dare a black person take offence to being mockingly called negro by an opponent to rile them up!).

i mentioned this before but under Woy, switzerland were ranked 3rd in the FIFA World Rankings. 3rd!!!!!!!! I mean it doesnt take a genius to work out what an acheivement that was!!!! Brazil/argentina/england/spain/italy/france/etc and he took them to 3rd in the rankings.

(and yes rankings may not mean a whole lot to some but still impressive)

Getting to a WC semi will get you in the top 5. Keeping them there is another thing altogether. Any team is capable of a good cup run.

Every manager makes poor signings. Nobody has a 100% hit or miss ratio in the transfer market. Roy/Kenny/Rafa all had varying budgets, varying constraints with owners. Of the 3, delivering value for money it would be 1. Rafa 2. Roy 3. Kenny

now hold on. These guys weren't world beaters at pool but they did their job. Not duds whatsoever.
