Some of the best weapons are unlocked very early, M16a3 springs to mind.

For me the M16A3 and M27 are the best guns in the game. Both are default guns but can only be used as the US. According to fhrope the AK-74 is pretty good since the patch.

Maybe it's just me; but I have an awful lot of carbine ribbons from using the SCAR-H as an engineer.
I think my terrible aim is just "anywhere in the middle of the body" and the gun's own recoil ends up giving me a bunch of headshots.

    Thumbs up from me.

Yeah, have a look at the bullets stats or with Better Battlelog for example, and you can see which guns are good for secondary headshots. The A-91 has crazy lateral spread compared to say the AN-94.

TDM is also a quick way to rack up lots of points. Especially if you whore an auto-shotty.

I was playing lastnight and the usual debate was running in chat about the new suppression, some saying its more tactical and stops the run and gun gameplay others disagreeing.
I suggested we get 2 teams of 5 to stand opposite eachother 20 feet apart and just start shooting eachother, nobody died until it was time to reload, the stupid suppression is magnified the more people that shoot and nobody could hit enemy 20 feet away, its absolutely retarded now wtf were they thinking?

But the effect isn't even that severe, it's not like you become completely incapacitated, you can still shoot back. If you keep aiming towards them while you're being suppressed, you'll still hit them.

I've been running around on maps like Operation Metro, Grand Bazar and Seine Crossing with an AN-94 assault rifle without being too badly effected. It's all about how you engage the target. If you stay out in the open and try to shoot back, you'll die. Run away, get into cover, wait for his reload and fire back. Or just use the cover specialisation, it reduces the suppressive effect.

Some support class players have worked out how to profit from the new suppression tweaks. Once they go prone and start shooting it's very difficult to hit such a small target under suppression.

I've noticed certain players doing this over and over again. I saw a video on the battlelog forums which showed how bad it is. I'm giving Dice the benefit of the doubt for now but so far I'm surprised this made it through playtesting

Your merely stating the obvious, thats all well and good but unfortunately far too often there are times when this suppression is absolutely crazy.
One on one its not too bad but its rare your one on one.

I've not experienced this "suppresion" that everyone keeps talking about :p
I don't get supressed in Jets and Choppers

We have a solution to you. That right Blazer? :)

I personally haven't seen a problem with the suppression. If anything it makes the game more realistic IMO.

But surely if you've gotten into a situation where it's you on your own versus multiple enemies then it's more an error on your part. Battlefield has always been the game that's been about team-based tactical gameplay. If you run into a situation where you're on your own facing the enemy head on, you deserve the death if you don't retreat.

But I know it's hard to play as a team if it's yourself and a bunch of random players, but that's when I'd switch up my gameplay. Take the smoke launcher and create flanking maneuvres, get in behind the enemy instead of taking the usual direct route. The smoke launcher is my crutch, its saved me multiple times.

You must be new to this whole thing , I think they use the term "playtesting" in the loosest possible sense

lol, you might be right. To be fair on them though I have no doubt that trying to keep a game balanced with this many weapons, vehicles and perks is really tricky. It's a pity we have to be the playtesters as well
