It's gonna be sad not blowing up C4 after death but hopefully it fixes a lot of the annoying things in the game.

If C4 doesn't show up on the mini-map as its supposed to do, it'll more than make up for the post death detonations.

I reinstalled BF3 last night and it seems to have fixed my long loading times. Hopefully I won't have to do it all again post patch.

Jeeps will do better, tanks will longer be warned by 4 fast moving X's heading towards them on the mini map.

That's true. I can imagine a lot more people putting down mines though, which are hard to see when driving a jeep.

Don't like how they're allowing people to "buy" to unlock everything in the game. A bit pointless when the idea of the game is to unlock stuff and work through the system.

I'm surprised its only started now, they've been doing it the past few years in other games, tiger woods you could unlock or buy the equipment, dantes inferno you could actually buy XP.

Oh right, I suppose I was never really into BF before BF3 so I can't speak for that. I only played BC2 a bit because of the broadband situation. Thankfully it's a small bit better now.

My clanmates though on our forums, can't verify any of it yet, but he doesn't seem happy :P

oh and just to let you know the patch is ***ed

doesn't work, tanks now take 2 hits to kill, choppers dont fly correctly anymore and when you shoot or get shot at your screen goes black or freezes up and if your dead and you sqaud spawned on you they cant revive you.

Hmmm... Only getting a black screen now when I join a server. Join is successful, and I can hear audio... I smell an emergency patch coming.

I reinstalled the game last night because I was having horrible loading times, which now seem better. The patch is giving me no technical issues, so all is good.

Bloody hell tho, helis are raping armour. I just got one hit killed by missile after missile without any kind or warning on Caspian there.

just got the 1.5gb patch there. is it raping anyone elses PC?

i seem to be having crossfire issues or something on this new PC. GPU2 is only hovering around 50% usage, and GPU1 does 100%. problem is very bad fps. 50-75fps at 1080p ultra. should be much much higher than that.

specs are:
i5-2500K @4.7ghz under water
asrock z68 extreme4
2x7970CF
8gb ram
SSD


what the hell is going on?

No running issues for me but i shooting people not getting hit markers then getting dead. And if they die soon after i get Kill Assists

Having the same problem myself
At distance i get the hit marker but up close i dont seem to.

The change they made to "suppression" effing sucks imo :mad::mad::mad:
It seem if you dont fire first chances are your toast.

What also annoyed me was my settings for each gun have changed plus the recoil seems alot more on most of them.

i seem to be getting better fps 60-70 fps .usually only get 40+ . Hits seen to be off but i think is across different weapons . Tanks have become too weak . It was always the repair time that was too fast . suppose its fine . Big download. It better be worth it in the long run (GFX card is gtx295.)

wow.

The game ran pretty well on my machine, but that had to be the smoothest game of BF3 I've played ever. Didnt hurt my score either.

The main things that sticks out for me is really just how much clearer the minimap is and also the change in the helicopters and lock ons.

But that was just a brief taster. Will jump back in to see how the rest have shaked up.

Dayum the snipers feel completely different. Took me a game or 2 to get into it again.

I found a few glitches whilst I was playing last night, to say the least I'm far from impressed.

Aiming is all over the place, killing more than 1 person with a full clip is hard, bullet spread is all over the place and every few secs its like my eyes just water up with all this blur

not happy at all why change so much of the game there was no need

Bipod is completely useless now, Any amount of suppression and it feels like you don't have one at all! Had to check and make sure it was actually equipped a few times:/

I dont have a problem with any guns being overpowered. I would like to get a chance to shoot them but with this suppression & the random deviation of bullets I dont have a chance of hitting many people. Its becoming like call of duty where first to see will get the kill. Snipers dont even stand a chance against anyone other than a target sitting still and far away.

all they did to it was removed the initial recoil...so it's pretty nice
The F2000 got a buff and it's back to it's awesome A1 while the G3A3 got a nice buff.
The new IR scopes are crystal clear but with a much narrower field of vision...jury still out on this one..

The jets...think they replaced the cannons with peashooters....I swear I saw one pilot load his bic biro with paper bullets before flying off...

Played a bit lastnight and the biggest issue is the suppression, its way overdone imo.

overall a lot of nice improvements but since the patch i SUCK , its impossible to snipe a moving target anymore and i used to be good at that , but the biggest problem by far is the supression its absolutely insane :mad:, he who fires first wins no matter the range or gun , why did they mess with it ?? it was perfect before hand , also notice the M4A1 in now one of the most powerful guns in the game i mean seriously WTF , the changes to the guns have ruined the game a bit for me i mean they were perfect beforehand now there all messed up

Jet cannons have had a big nerf, which is good I suppose, but the rocket pods are lethal now.
Jets are also easier to fly for beginners

The 2 best guns are now M416A3 and L85A2 both weapons with certain attachments are god like guns.

The L85A2 has better hip accuracy then most weapons zoomed in due to a clitch that happens when it has certain attachments have a look on you tube.

The M16A3 is a lot more accurate with certain attachments after the patch then it was before.

I know finding it easier to kill people and dying less over all.

The only problem you come across is suppression, once under any suppression you better just shooting to move into cover, once in cover suppression goes fast enough then start shooting again.

Just played a few maps there for a friend and both agreed the game is less enjoyable after the patch.
The suppression is an absolute joke and imo ruins the game.
I spent most of my time with a blurry screen thanks to suppression.

We did, make a slight difference for sure but still close to a game breaker for me, considering i prefer to play infantry only.
Red Orchestra 2 has the best suppression system going, Dice should have taken note..

The metro lads are now seeing daylight for the first time since this game began. 64 player Supression is too much ina tunnel so theyve taken to the fields so i see in my friends list, id love to know the ppl playing stats drop this week the average player time spent playing and total players playing, my playing time is easily down 50% and from hours on on server to 1 hour b4 i give up.
anyone find these stats?

They dont release these stats as far as i know. Same myself, the suppression bull**** has made me not bother playing as much as I usually would.

aaarg this is rubbish.
The LAV locks so much faster than is even necessary. its extremely difficult to take one out in the jet as it was, and now he's got 2 locks on you before you even pass him.


I love flying choppers and jets, but now its not even a challenge to destroy a tank. its actually gotten so boring im looking for a new game to play.

I played for the first time since the patch and I am not impressed either. A lot of the guys I play with are the same. The MG36 has lost it's extended mag. The RPK now has 200 rounds it what is essentially a AK74.

Im guessting theyl surely fix this? Im stuck to an xbox so havent played it yet but the videos ive seen speak for themselves, although apparently the .44 magnum isint effected?
But anyways with a close quarters dlc coming up itll be probably unplayable with this on it? In fairness the initial supression only blurred vision really and didnt effect aiming, but they've really taking it to an extreame by the looks, reminds me of the IR scope a few months back..
