    :D

Time to make space on the CD shelf then!

A certain alledged 'classic rock' radio station operating out the Dublin area played 2 Rush songs the other day. Bet you can't guess which two songs they were! :p

Can't wait, let's hope they make it back here for their second time ever!

    CANNOT ****ING WAIT

Going by the strength of the 2 singles released, I'm expecting good things from this album.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

The Fountain of Lamneth and Cygnus X-1: Book II - Hemispheres.
    Obviously.

So close, it was both parts of Cygnus ;)

That'd be funny though, the drivetime commuters of Dublin might not know what hit them when Dirk hits those high notes towards the end of Cygnus X-1 :D

Now I'm confused...so it's apparently being released on June 12th but that's via the Classic Rock fan pack thingy? I mean, I don't care how it gets released as I'll be buying it anyway, but I'm getting old and I don't need this confusion. Just release the CD!

Quick question, I was never mad about Rush, mainly because of the high pitched singing and mincey lyrics.

Anyhoo I recorded there live performance off Sky Arts the other night, unbelievable, but then again I always knew live is where it’s at.

Some nasty bass playing that I couldn’t deny any longer. What albums should I start on to ease me in?

    Moving Pictures
    Hemispheres
    Farewell to Kings
    Signals
    2112

... and for "newer" sounding Rush you can't go wrong with Snakes and Arrows (the album from the tour you watched on Sky)

    Thanks for the suggestions Ray.

Rolling Stone magazine has the full album version of Headlong Flight up, streaming right now, ahead of the planned launch:

Thoughts & comments to follow. Suffice to say that the hair on the back of my neck won't go down ...

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Couldn't get the stream to give me more than a faint version of it but I'm thinking that the Snow Dog is off celebrating Bastille Day somewhere :D

Yeah - it's definitely a "throwback" song, a natural progression from the themes of the Time Machine Tour. Sounded v. good here through headphones. I heard quotes from Anthem in there too. Not my favourite side of them currently - I hope the other tracks on the album are more, well. Progressive. ;)

Amazing musicianship - not much of a song though.

I saw the track listing on Amazon, and the first two tracks are Caravan and BU2B. We could be headed for an 'ok' rush album, people.

I like the new track and can't wait for the album

Such a thing does not exist. Fool.

I disagree on both counts. My 'ok' albums? Test For Echo, Roll the Bones, Hold Your Fire and Caress Of Steel (despite the awesome title).

YMMV. Like I give a damn.

Caravan and BU2B are both decent songs, but starting an album with them would indicate, to me at least, that they are considered the better going on best material on the album.

I've been a Rush fan since 1980, and I've no intention of stopping now, regardless of how this album turns out.

Brought to you by the letter 'G'.
