BMC is the 100Mile TT Irish Champ right?

And his Galway 70.3 bike was some 10mins faster than MM I think.
The only reason he wasn't in the top 5 in that race is due to cold/circumstance issues where afaik he had no arm warmers and nearly froze on the bike and barely remembers the last half of the race.
His run was 1:36 odd that day, easily 10+ mins off his norm pace.
Think he ran a sub 1:20 half on it's own a few weeks later.

SA70.3 was pretty damn solid too barring puncture.

With those credentials, and off with the Pro wave it's gotta be his race imo.

Anyway, abu is 4 hours ahead, race start is 6:40am ish so by the time we get up we'll have a few answers...

Looks to me like there's a case for drafting the leader!!!

BMC losing time to the top Pro's - 8 mins at this stage on bike is more than I'd expect.

At Yas two. Seven minutes from BMC to MM, 1 to LCD but OW now 7minutes back from them.

    My money still on LCD

8min a lot for LCD to make up - McCrystals running is pretty decent off the bike these days. Molloy looks to have blown up on the bike or the last timing is wrong.

Looks like its over bar the shouting BMC up 11mins at last check on Dolan. Dolan after taking out 2 mins from the AG leader, hopefully he will catch him only 3mins in it.

    MM gone

    His twitter:
DNF -hit rumble strips and came off on F1 circuit on 2nd lap - limped back to T2

    thankfully he says he's ok

Fazz wtf you doing up at 6am and not training :P or are you turboing it up?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,092 ✭✭✭Bambaata

16th for BMC. MAde his way well up the field

    OK hopefully this table works...

Seems MM has had an issue dropped from 1st overall AG to 16th at present.
Or else he may have had a puncture on bike.
Ah I see came off bike due to rumble strip - DNF

Looks like LD now 3rd overall - guy in 1st didn't do the run but is credited as finished ha :D
So LD should move up to podium. Some going. And serious running.

Edit - Owen Martin with another solid run. 2 Irish in top 10 AG overall is top class in fairness, especially running that pace.

    Great stuff.

Liam Dolan has taken the lead!

1st in his age group nearing end of run.
Something like near 3rd Male Age Grouper Overall at present!!!

    Savage performance.

Owen Martin up to 4th in his AG and 13th Overall Age Grouper at present...

    Solid work being put down!

LCD won his AG. Has him listed as 4th overall AG but 1st place seems wrong as there's no run involved so that gives LCD an overall podium!

Shame the DNF from MM, could have been close to LD/OM at end depending.

Serious running from all Irish in fairness!

Heat was managed well by the looks of it.

Just shows you the difference between the best age grouper (now pro) in Ireland for the past few years and some of the worlds best. 45 mins. Will be interesting to see if he can reduce that gap in the years to come

I did. But thats my opinion and am sure could be argued against in a whole new thread. More interested in the time gap.

Jaysus lads your mad.. Really enjoyed reading that and how well up you are on us..LCD told me the night before the race but i didnt login. Thank god as the pressure would of got to me!.. You know me better than i know myself..
All in all I had a good day looking back, I would of liked 2/3 mins on the swim. I had issues with the bike and a piece of wire pierced through my back tire for the best part of 70km. suprised how much time i lost in the bike but you gotta take it. Run was solid and I learned how to suffer. nutrition went down well for the first time going long.. mars bars are the way forward!!
All the Irish did really well. A few other lads were in it (from kerry I think). Well done Fergal, nice to meet you.
    cheers
    bmc
ps LCD will have a tree named in his honour for next year..;-)))
