To those asking about team play and if this is worth playing; ever one of those galaxies (the green airplanes on the radar, 20+ of them) were taking 12 people for a 4+ location drop last Friday On top of that we had a airwing etc. running as well and that's one side (out of three).

Today is a good day to get back into Planetside 2. Amerish is a new continent now basically after todays patch. Lots of new bases. The most impressive bases in the game now imho. It also now has lattice links. Sign up today as a Miller Vanu Sov recruit!

Had a go last night, dropped into the NC Arsenal to help take it from the TR. Great layout, lovely mix of landscape, corridors, warehouse open spaces and the like. Very fun to navigate and fight through.

Of course nobody in NC seems interested in tactics during then hours I'm able to play, so it was eventually taken back by some admittedly clever teamwork from folks in one of the Goonswarm outfits.

Right, so i've not played for over a year, and have around 6000 SC to spend. Are there any must have upgrades for general play? I'll probably focus on my Heavy Assault or aircraft skills.

HA; nothing new you need except possible the crossbow if you're desperate for a silenced up to medium ranged weapon as secondary (can also add sensor darts if you're paranoid).

Airplanes have two new missiles (the ground laste guided is suppose to be meh, the air to air one is suppose to be OP if you listen to the forums) and a new nose gun (not to hot, big clip lower damage). Standard A2A is nose gun + the dummy missiles with fire extinguisher (buffed greatly) from what I see in what's killing me and of course Libs with Daltons flying upside down.

In general terms though there has not really been anything significant added in terms of weapons (but a ton of nice camos and other cosmetics). Be careful about spending to much certs into shields as they'll go from today's instant activation to a delayed activation soon (tm).

I've no idea what i bought when i was playing originally tbh, so i'll need to check that when i get online later. Will probably end up wasting half my credits on something that looks cool though...ooh, shiny.

Depends on what you're into. I never liked infiltrators because snipers are the scum of the earth, but an infiltrator with a silenced SMG, that's a different story.

Heavy Assault with a shotgun is a lot of fun. Dunno if the other factions have one but the NC have shottie with a full auto firing mode, it's great for clearing rooms. I've had a lot of success with a HA with Decimator, AV grenades and some C4. You can take out a Sunderer single-handedly with one shot from each, then switch back to your main gun and mop up survivors.

So I've not been on in ages and now among other things I've got a new custom loadout and getting a free Irish camo today.

Also they made me do a questionnaire and I got a camo and weapon out of it, some of the weapons I already had so not sure how that works if you choose something you've already got.

The PS2 website should still have a series of tutorial videos to explain the basics of the game.

I'm liking the look of the new air vehicle coming along. I sometimes run in a small squad of 6 friends, it looks like the Valkyrie might cater to that quite nicely.


NC have some new railgun sniper rifle thing too, had a look in VR training. It's almost a hitscan weapon. Almost. I'm sure someone's already complaining about it.

Does anyone know how to turn that new and highly irritating filter off? Whatever about swear words, but when a word such as "beacon" - a term used within the game itself - is being caught it is deeply frustrating.

That was excellent actually. It's at a completely different level to the way the normal zerg plays, and even most outfits, I'd guess.

I don't know other servers but I know VS Miller has run this type of things through the Vanu Accord (basically a coordination between all major outifts on VS side) to go 200+ coordinated against TR or NC. I also remember the first attempt at this event; no one had told SoE about it and Miller people REALLY wanted to play so we crashed the test server with over 1.000 people trying to get in (their login server was not able to handle it so the whole thing went down) :P

Kind of tempted to give this another go. My PC wasn't good enough to run it competantly a year ago and it would lag pretty bad for me. Think it was my CPU (Q6600 OC'd that was the problem) Since upgraded.
Think I'll end up downloading it and see if I can get (back) into it.

Had a PSG account and now on SOE, but sadly can't merge any other SOE account but there was some good news. All codes that I've already used on the PSG account and still have the reward for work again.

So who they are using now for accounts? The reason I did not bothered to play more, because I spent 20eu on damn thing and then they made EU servers being handled not by SOE, but some bull**** third party.
