    Was it the 7th that McIlroy missed the green with a sand wedge - that probably was a 2 shot swing and is currently the difference.

    Yeah, that was the game right there. Very stupid error from such a great player.
    He has such a lot to learn yet. When (and if) he does, he'll be almost impossible to beat.

    At the moment he has the swing of a genius but the mind of a fool at times.

    Yep, very solid on the back nine but in fairness he hasn't really been under pressure because of the McIlroy gifts on the front 9

    Mahan went long over the back and then Rory followed him over when a wedge to the middle of the green would have won him the hole and he ended up losing it after duffing his pitch

    That was the hole alright, par it and it would have been all square but he lost it to a bogey which is just criminal.
    I'll get him the benefit of the doubt that he pulled it off the up slope and didn't mean to attack the flag.

    Mahan made a mistake with his approach, the ball went down a hill to the left leaving a very tough up and down. Rory had 130yds left with wedge in hand. A simple shot 15ft to the right of the flag would almost certainly have won the hole, instead he followed Mahan down the hill and messed up completely from there.
