Post has been and not a thing for me here, flip me, this has been the longest month ever!!! I'm pretty much meh either way now, I'm sorta disappointed with the whole thing, it's taken so long when I was told mid July would be the time you would hear word, I understand there might be a fair number of those getting marked or whatever but even still, sod it! again I'll wait and see what the craic is but I'm not completely optimistic, considering its nearly a week from when those that received there yay letters lol

If I don't get anything today, I'll be ringing them.
I tried ringing them the other day but no one answered.
What's the best number to ring on.

I was told first that I'd hear either way 2 weeks past on Friday. Then on Monday I was told they were posting them out Monday and yesterday but noones here's heard yet still out of us who's waiting so I'm not hopeful to be honest. Might not be a rejection letter but I reckon maybe a waiting list letter or something like that. Not happy, won't be emailing or phoning again

I got a letter today from them. Says I passed the assessment centre but that I didn't place high enough on the merit list to be processed at this stage. "Should the situation change we will be in contact. I wish to thank you in advance for your patience as you await further correspondence from this branch."

Kind of confused by the way they ended it. Saying they wouldn't be processing t at this stage to me seems like I didn't get in. Then to say have patience as I await further correspondence.

Absolutely gutted that we have all been told different things and now to get a letter like that. Especially when we were all told the other day merit listing didnt matter!

U gonna call up and say ur confused as u were told merit listing didnt matter? How many jobs are there then I wonder ? Did u tick to apply for all positions or just the custody officer one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 113 ✭✭craydon

Omg Scottlad really, that's the kind of letter I meant. Suppose mines on its way then! Sorry to hear that

I just emailed there to see, and if I get no reply to the email today then I'll ring tomorrow. I ticked all the positions. I remember somebody saying a few posts back that all the regret letters had went out and no news was good news. Clearly not

If we all get these letters I think we all write to complain we have been misled. As this is a government body it has to be held accountable

Sharon, was it yourself who's been holding out waiting when offered another job starting soon? But you have been led to believe that you'd be hearing soon and "all rejection letters have been sent out". It's not really acceptable to be given false information, if they genuinely don't know then that's what should be said. I'm wondering if maybe there's fewer positions than we have all been thinking because going roughly by the number of us who have posted and compare the number if those who have received medical forms etc to the numbers who haven't - it's a very large difference.

This whole 'saga' just gets more pathetic by the day.
I'm now dreading getting a letter.

Yeh it was me that was holding out for this one. I'm so cross! I would rather have had a rejection letter than sitting for months holding out even further. To not know many jobs there are before advertising is a disgrace. Anyone really wana take this further if we all get these types of letter?

We've all been told different things. If all rejection letters had been sent out last week then that would naturally lead you to believe they were working their way down the merit list.

This seems to be turning in to a bit of a joke now.
I have no faith at all in this now.

I hope im wrong but I think we'll all get these letters not the forms at this stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 113 ✭✭craydon

Me too Chantelle, they're the waiting list type letters I was talking about - heard of them before during the psni recruitment but I'm not sure if anyone who received one was ever actually offered anything further. I don't think they were though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 deetopps

Has anyone else got one of these letters today surely if we are all getting them they would have all been sent at the same time, scottlad101 did you apply for all positions or Just the one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 107 ✭✭chantelle101

Wish I hadnt got my hopes up...thought they were mayb just being processed in reverse from the ac. Anyone feel like ringing to ask if forms are still being sent out at this stage or just waiting list letters?!!!!
