Just back home after being away so heard nothing yet. You'd imagine Donnelly will be out for a game for such a blatant slap.

Any word on Clones being confirmed for the Donegal match?

Sean Cavanagh interviewed after the game was saying clones. Not sure if that's just an assumption or do they know something.

Yeah checked that myself and news outlets to see if there was anything. If it was a quarter final I'd imagine it wouldn't be in clones but a semi final should see a big enough crowd.

Just got watching the match there. As always the gurning I was reading and hearing about the game was way OTT. There was enough in it to keep me happy. Sean was brilliant as per usual, the half backs were all excellent, special mention for young McCann who was very good and probably near enough value for his MOTM although I'd have given it to Sean. The bench all looked hungry and if McCurry can get some consistency (saying that for years) he's as good as most of what's out there. 3 scores in a few minutes and 2 of them were excellent. I've been blowing here about Lee Brennan and when he came on he didn't disappoint. A long range free chipped over and a really nice point from play.

Far from the finished article and between wides and shots dropped short I'd say we missed about another 5 good scoring chances which isn't too bad really. Not created many goal chances but Derry were fouling every time we got close to them so I'm not too bothered.

Let them write us off before the Donegal game. Doesn't matter a damn and I'm sure not too many in the Donegal camp would be taking us lightly.

Everyone crying about games like this being poor fare and people watching not getting value for money. Don't remember complaints like that when it was Derry beating us up a stick every time we met. More complaining for the sake of complaining, but such is the nature of modern football. The only people who bother to comment on games like this from outside the counties are those who like to have a pop and national media was always going to follow the same old shtick.

I think we're doing OK. Plenty of players have flourished in the last 15 years.

Lee Brennan scored 3-14 himself in a division one game last night against Strabane. Some scoring for one man.

Just found his highlights from that game. Some class scores off both feet and a lovely free taking technique.

I still feel they are far too negative

Scored 82 points in 4 games in Ulster last year. Over 20 points per game average.

We play a system of counterattacking football that won't please everyone. We get a lot of people behind the ball and rely then on blistering pace to get through after a turnover. With a top forward getting a decent amount of scores in tight games we'd be a serious force.

I won't get excited about beating Derry by a big score, we did the same last year and still threw it away with bad kicking against Mayo. The point is though that in that mayo game we created loads and loads of chances but just couldn't put it over the bar. That's not too negative imo, it was just poor finishing.

Big win there in the u17 final. 3-14 to 6 points. Great to see young talent coming through.

Not at all confident coming into this game, pretty much the same way I've felt going into this game for the last few years.

    2016 - W 2 points
    2015 - L 3 points
    2013 - L 6 points
    2012 - L 2 points
    2011 - L 7 points

So in the last 5 championship meetings we've only won one game and have an aggregate score of -16. The win in the league put the fear into me too. Donegal we're supposed to be rubbish this year but it's not going to plan at all.

They might still be rubbish, but they are certainly showing potential, there is a freshness to them and who knows, you'd be as well sticking a few quid on them. They look like they have goals in them.

Looking at the way the qualifiers work out losing this game isn't the end of the world in terms of ai progression although I'd say the best either can hope for is an Ulster title anyway. The loser goes into pool a which plays connaught and Munster winners and losers as well as Mayo.

Funny, I was thinking the opposite with Mayo being in there. Never like playing a team that is in 'bould humour' as they say.

Hopefully won't matter too much to Donegal :P

I'm taking Tyrone by 1 based on absolutely nothing. There's a sparrow's fart as to how this one will pan out. Can't wait. Was meant to be making the drive up with a Coalisland lad and Dungannon lad but I've been beckoned to Nás na Rí on Sunday... Duty calls.

That side you'll have Mayo, Galway, Kerry and one of us. The other side you'll have to face Dublin in the quarter or semi final if you get that far. Pool A is harder in general but in terms of getting to an all Ireland pool b looks harder.

That said playing Dublin in a possible quarter you could be facing them sans Connolly if the appeal fails and that might be significant.

Derry are already on the A side of the Draw and should beat Waterford. I'd be amazed to see them progress into the third round though given the semi-finalists they have to face in round 2.

Down are on the B side should they lose to Monaghan. I can see Cavan going fairly deep into that side of the qualifiers. As it stands them and Tipp are the strongest looking of the sides already there.

Same side as Derry. Donnelly and Cavanagh inside with Bradley there too. Interesting if he actually goes with that.

Big Sean playing his 86 championship game.

Who knows how it will go down. It feels bigger than a semi final with so much on the line. I think it's a much bigger game for Tyrone than you with more on the line. Should you lose you have a ready made genuine reason. Should we lose its nothing short of a disaster.

    May the best team win.

Jesus never thought I'd say it but I agree with you lose and I would think the knives will be out for Mickey and win the media will be calling yous the only team that can possibly beat Dublin again while ourselves only into the first year of rebuilding anyhow must get ready to get on the road feels like Ulster final day.

Delighted with that. It's absolutely years since we put the foot on a teams neck when we went ahead. Great performance.

Fair dues by far the superior team was not expecting that, but fresher looking team first for everything if anything yous would have been hoping for a better game to be more prepared hopefully yous will go on and beat Monaghan in the final (or down):(

I said all along that I thought the winner would come from this side of the draw and I'm not going to pretend to be coy and say different now.

I know what you mean about having a more competitive game but tbh I think what we've needed for years was a conclusive win against a big side. A one point win didn't do us favors last year

Well they definitely done that today that's if we can still be regarded a big side but on today's performance I'd rate us a few levels below you imo the best we can hope for is a day out sometime in croker

On now to the final. Tyrone have only retained Ulster three times before so it's clearly not easy to do. You'd expect Monaghan to make it through against Down and they are a decent side that we've not had it easy against lately. They haven't been great this year against Fermanagh and Cavan but done enough and they seem to have found a few more forwards that make it harder to Playa against.

Would be great to win and get straight into the quarters in Croker. The winner will likely have a semi against Dublin to play for. Big prizes.
