Basically I'm just wondering if most people tip him?
Lots of people just walk away without washing their hands:eek:
A lot of the time I feel like I have to throw him 2euro on a night out.
Costs a fortune then for just taking a piss.
    Kind of annoying.

I tell him my girl troubles and then stop listening when he tells me his.

Yes. Drunk guys in clubs can be heartless pricks.

Nope. Unless he's going to go above and beyond and shake it for me when I'm finished he ain't getting a cent. I'm usually wearing much nicer aftershave than anything he has anyway! :D

No, it's not my fault he works in a toilet.

Yeah I do, but I make him sing the toilet song first.

You probably get him to blowdry your dick too

    I don't.
When washing my hands and they offer to hand a paper towel ... i just say "nah" and use the hand-dryer. Why the **** would I give a tip for someone offering a paper towel!

But a bigger question is how this become popular in bars? and why are they all black? ... Did some random black guy ask a bar manager to do it back in 2007 then spread like wild fire?

Its been around in Limerick here since 2003, and most of the guys here have a raft of aftershaves and sprays with them. I honestly have no idea why anybody would want to do what they do.

It's not meant as a convenience. The idea is to reduce drug use/dealing in the toilets.

Dunno why they're all black but I reckon it's to have someone who "stands out" and makes it clear that he's working down there and watching you.

No, I am well able to do my business and clean up without any assistance from him.

There is something not right about having another bloke standing there gawking at you.

I was probably best friends with a lot of them in the canaries, was on first name terms with them and everything.

I was in a pub in Dublin a few weeks back.

There was a Toilet Guy in the toilet and one lad started to make conversation while he was taking a piss (Jaysus - don't chat while taking a piss!)

    Here's how it went:

    "Where you from?"
    - Africa.
    "No way, what part?"
    - Chad.
    "No way, what part?"
    - Koro Toro
    "Nah, don't know it!"

I imagine it has less to do with being black than with being a 'big guy' able to stop fights and also willing to work small hours for pittance and tips.

There may be a certain level of illegality or Visa issues at work here as well... that's just a guess. There's nothing to back it up.

When I think about it soberly, any man who is willing to put up with fools like my friends and I when we're drunk, and stands for hours in a toilet to do so, is probably quite deserving of small change at the very least.

To stop drug use is bullshit. Most drugs are taken in the stall.
As for to stop selling? also bullshit.

Why? It does of course happen in bathrooms. I don't see why that should be regarded as bullsh1t.

I don't think club owners put them there for shits and giggles.
