They're not exactly statement wear so I think you can wear them forever. I wear them (34), my older siblings wear them, my preteen nieces wear them and my mum (68) wears them. They've been around so long, it is sort of equivalent to asking how long you can continue to wear jeans.
What else do they wear? :pac:

they've been back for over a year. You'll get them in Office, Schuh, any vintage-ish shop that sells shoes

Converse are made in China and owned by Nike.

Be janey you learn something new everyday.

I'd still rather pay €40 for a pair of Cons than €120 for a pair of Nike that will damage your feet and muscles. It's been scientifically proven that the less cushioning in a pair of runners the better as it allows a more natural stride and impact between your foot and surface.

I've never owned a pair so I can't comment on their comfort but I hate the sight of them because I associate them with skinny jeans.

If you like them though then fcuk the begrudgers to be honest.

I bought my first pair a week ago so I'm not going to stop wearing them anytime soon. Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.

They're all I wear really when I'm not in work, always found them comfortable so I don't envisage to stop wearing them anytime soon. They can be bad for your knees though as there is no support offered in the sole at all. I broke my leg in a pair while climbing over a wall, there was nothing to absorb the shock when I jumped down.

WTF were you getting over a wall at your age ?

I got my first pair of converse when I was a kid waaaaaaaaaay back in the 1980s, me ma got them from Tuthills bargain bin for a pound, because at the time no-one would be seen dead wearing them.

they only started to become popular as a staple of grunge scene (smells like teen spirit opens with a full shot of Cobains converse tappin away) which was basically not givin a fcuk what you wear. and that is something of any age who doesn't give a fcuk about stupid fcukin bullsiht can appreciate.

that said I'd rather any other white soled runners than branded converse, same shid, much cheaper.

I'll be wearing hightops for a very long time, look at Becks still wearing them at 36, mayb around 40 stop, just because you kinda need to adapt at a certain stage. I mean I don't wear Air Max anymore even tho I like them because they just don't suit me anymore.

I would imagine that the major scientific things about NikVerse is how to keep a supply chain cost low and market the different brands to different segments presenting the illusion of choice... ending up with people emotionally attached to one brand over another.... for no good reason

I stopped wearing them after Nike bought the company in 2003.

I love them for the gym and for general wear. They look nice enough with a pair for jeans I think.
I like the minimal sole they have. Much more natural to walk in compared with runners/shoes.

Way way over priced for what they are though.

First they came for the socialists...

Cushioned runners tend to make people heel strikers while running. Running barefoot, people generally land with the ball of the foot and the ankle joint acts as a shock absorber.

45? Come on now, you're a bit long in the tooth for wearing Converse.

P.S Converse are absolutely muck, get some real shoes like supra high tops. Converse look scruffy.

At the age they stop liking them.

I hate this idea that certain young people have that they can dictate what older people should wear. Why should anyone stop wearing something they like? Are you supposed to suddenly start wearing slippers and a pair of trousers with the waist pulled up around your chest because you're over the age of thirty?

Converse have been going since 1917 by the way. It's not like they have just been invented by some pimply fifteen year old. If some teenager has a problem with you wearing the same type of clothes or shoes as them, then let them be the ones to change their attire.

Converse are ****! Vans and circa's are the way to go, more comfy too.

Why don't you just skateboard on out of here? We can't be having that sort of talk around here.

I stopped wearing them when I was about 17, they're just not very comfortable because of my stupid feet. Dunlop runners ftw

Not a fan of any flat sole shoes myself. Used to wear skater shoes and converse etc but I realized how uncomfortable they really are. Dunnes stores brown hiking shoe/runners are the way to go I tell ya!

My Mother wears them and she is 48. Bright red ones too, very embarrassing.

I hate converse, over-priced tat but I don't see why it should matter what age you are. As some-one else pointed out, they've been on the go almost 100 years, hardly the reserve of the young and trendy.

I still don't understand why anybody (other than impressionable teenagers taken in by the marketing) would buy them though, you can get pretty much identical shoes in penneys or the like for about a 10er or if you want to spend a bit more you can buy an actual quality pair of shoes for the same price as cons or less.
I'm currently a pair of leather work-boots that are over 15 years old only cost about 10 pounds. My one and only ever pair of cons (I was a young and impressionable douchebag of a teenager completely taken in by the marketing) didn't even last a summer and they cost 40 odd euro.
