Boosters built in for kids, you'll find them in a lot of Volvos as well. However, the interior of that Passat in general looks filthy.

I meant the general grubbiness of the seats!

It's still got the taxi sticker on the back window like

    Hense so much tax.

What's the story with this thread? Are all the cars posted here in need of work? Or could someone who's in the market for a new(used) car, with a small budget, but with no experience in fixing up cars pick something up from here and be happy with it?

I agree, its turned into a "look at this piece of **** on wheels" thread..

Its gone all Saab's ex Taxi's and overpriced high mileage damaged leftovers...

Best way to change that. Post more of what you would want to buy.

Small economical car that just needs to pass an NCT , milage is only half of some of the cars posted here and if its in good condition on inspection I wouldnt be worried about it, its not far off average milage for its age.
If it passes NCT its a bargain.

If it was going to pass the nct he'd run it through himself and up the asking I feel.

15k miles per annum average miles for a 1 litre ?

No NCT (or a few weeks on one) and it doesn't belong in here :D
Tremendously poor effort for someone criticising the thread :)

Great potential to have 80k wiped off the clock and a fresh NCt though.

Must be nct till 2014 if its 2002
It also doesn't seem to be a taxi either.

    Nice find. Needs alloys though.

    NICE FIND.....................................HARDLY

I had a 2002 S60 D5 up for 2250 with NCT and TAX fully serviced belts etc done and new tyres same milage and only got idiots to view

This is a petrol for the same money

    Not Bangernomics in my opinion

I decided to keep my car as I enjoy driving it and its far superior to other rag boxes out there

I know lots of people who do even more miles than that in 1 litre cars, its all they can afford.
Yes its due an NCT, as are a lot of other cars. Why does it not belong here ? is it because is not French or German or have a big engine ?
Interesting that you mention clocking a car, remind me not to buy a car from you..

Yep, very much so! I picked up a 10 year old Saab 9-5 in 2010 which was literally nearly as good as new with 78k miles for €1,350. Still have it now and it has cost me nearly nothing apart from petrol, tax and insurance :)

I did have it checked out by my mechanic, but I would have bought it anyway. I have bought most of my cars purely on a hunch and I have no experience at all in fixing cars :)

    YIKES.

Just spotted that. Still, for the price, I'd get one and throw it on if the rest of the car is ok

We can't cater for everyones needs but the general rule is:
    • Under €2k
    • NCT'd for a good bit
    • Must be running well or without any mechanical faults eg blown turbo, clutch gone etc
    • Tax optional but welcome (no psv/island/hearse classed etc)
    • Something people would actually buy and run on a day to day basis (no specialist stuff!)

I'm the type of hoor that likes poking with broken or sh*tty examples of cars destined for the bin and bringing them back to life for next to nothing. But not everyone is like that!

Luxobarges, older well minded cars and cheap repmobiles are the way foreward :)

Thought that might have been a very rare Irish sold 5 door hatch with a whopping great 1.6 (sweet engine but [sucks air through teeth] feircessshhh high taxssshhh) and slx spec which was decent for the segment and time, nearly all Irish sold cars were 4 door saloons while the UK lapped up the 5 dor hatch, but the reg at 2375 in kerry in 1994 might be a little bit high for the February 20th date on the NCT means it's probably a swimmer. If it checked out as original Irish, I reckon it would have been babied in its early years since so few Irish would have upgraded on either spec or engine, never mind both .

NCT is up this month, see criteria below :)

Regarding not buying a car off me, I'm not involved in the motor trade or in clocking cars so you won't get the opportunity ;)
