good post, but the sellers misinformed, as this car will always need an nct to be legal.

Older Volvo S40. Full Leather & Air Con. NCT 05/13 €1150

Anything I should be looking out for if I was going to see this? Are there any known faults? Also, roughly what sort of MPG are these going to get? I'm not overly bothered about that but it's a big issue for the missus.

    Many thanks.

Not a very nice colour but 97 A4 with NCT 5/13 for €500

    View2-14668457.jpeg

There's no price up on this one but it's a 2.8L Merc with Private Tax until 9/13! NCT 4/13. I think it's private tax anyway, putting the plate into the MotorTax site comes up with an annual cost of 1294 vs the <100 psv tax. It would surely be bought for less than 1k.

I doubt Kazakh Airlines had jets in the 80s. Maybe some knackered Russian turboprop Tupolev :D

There was no Kazakh Airlines in the 80s as there was no free Kazakh State back then. The only airline in whole Soviet Union was Aeroflot and they had Ty-154 and Ty134 and some more that as far as I know are jet planes. They even had Ty-144 which was analog to Concorde (or opposite).

Yeah your right actually. I just kind of put a price on it without comparing it with similar. I'm just used to seeing bmw 7'ers and the like in here for around the 1 - 1.5k mark. Still though the market for a car like that is pretty non existent so it would depend on how badly the seller needs it gone I guess!

Reads to me like he thinks its worth a lot. Silly ad though IMO.
    Still, Lovely jammer.

That yoke has been for sale for quite a bit longer than 11 days. I reckon there's something not quite right with the car or seller or both. :)

    Looks like an homest ad.
Knock a few quid off the asking not a bad buy.
Diesel, test, bit of tax, half leather and T/B done.

Just went down to see it. One owner, no service history at all. No history or receipts for the TB being done. Oil leaking from the gearbox. Bulbs gone in the speedo. Thermostat gauge not working. Spare tyre & jack missing.

Thought the engine power could have been better. Had a VRS a few months ago so comparing it to that

Biggest concern would be the leaking gearbox. Would it be costly to repair?

    €700 takes it

  • Registered Users Posts: 73,429 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

I wouldn't bother at any money, better to hold out for a proper one

yeah, its gas isn't it, a 1 owner car and the 1 owner could'nt manage to pop reciepts for services/parts into the glovebox over the years.....if he spend any money on the car at all that is.......

a good pal of mine had to view 9 alfa 156's until he found a good one.....:pac:
