Could be genuinely clueless about the context.

Maybe they're fans of Game of Thrones and liked "Arya" but wanted it to be more masculine.

People are bloody crazy, especially when it comes to naming kids. I don't think anything surprises me about kids names anymore.

You know you're dealing with an unhinged nutter when their pets have better names than their kids.

Couple near by me, two kids "Delyla-Rae" (spelt right the first name's lovely!) and "Maximillion Reign".

    The dog is called Benny.

If Maximillion Reign doesn't grow up to be a porn star, then there's no justice in the world.

I think that's what they were going for yeah - they had her name on massive pink balloons outside the house for her first birthday, that's how I saw the name.

Airline apologizes for an employee laughing at a kid's name.

At least they won't have to worry about getting stick in college.

...not everyone is nice and not everyone is going to be nice and it's unfortunate," Ms Redford said.

Well the first person in Abcde's life who wasn't nice to her was the idiot parent who gave her that name.

    'Abcde'

So the fake name I use for online insurance quotes is actually a real name? Wow.

Nollaig and Iseult, two ugly sounding names.

Also Miriam, it's a name very popular among GP's secretaries for some reason.

Heard of a new baby named
Astrid earlier. Kids are going to have a field day with that one, I wonder what endearing nickname they'll come up with? Ass? Assy? So many teasing possibilities, well done mam and dad.

Astrid is quite a popular Scandinavian name I like it to be honest.

I’m assuming that was the inspiration.

Guaranteed the kid will be fat, ugly, and won't have a note in their head.

My missus knows someone with a kid called Willow, and the kid is built like a whale.

Kid on the Toy show last night called Kyllian. Why do that to your child? ''Actually, it's spelled...'' is something he'll have to literally say for the rest of his life.

There’s a particular type of parent that loves to give their children normal names spelled in a “special” way. It speaks volumes about their ambition for, and faith in their child if they think they need to do that to make them stand out in life.

Spelled like the footballer Kyllian Mbappe.
