I like Carlow. Waterford would be much harder to get to without Carlow.

What a defeatist attitude to want to get rid of more counties! We still have six to get back. Tiocfaidh ár lá.:):):)

How about Dublin? We'd kill two birds with the one stone, since they'd be stuck with our government, and we'd be rid of the ****ers.
only 6 of the 15 are from Co. Dublin

    I have a cunning plan,,

Lets con someone and sell the 6 counties at a bargain, we would get about 10,000 into the exchequer and be rid of them,,OK we mightn't get 10 grand for them, we would get something.

Donegal could be sold to Iceland. They share similar weather patterns and language.

We're in deep poo-poo at the moment, and need creative ways to raise money. How about we sell a couple of counties to Iran, Russia or China to raise money. They could use it as a base for nuclear weapons to target America and the UK, and we could use their money to pay the debt. I vote we sell Louth and Mayo, the Iranians could put their anti UK misiles in Louth and their anti-US missiles in Mayo.

    Louth and proud :D

    Donegal makes sense..
Nice countryside would be a good selling point... It's kinda too hard to get to so wouldn't be much of a loss, it's also out on it's own up there...

Cavan, Monaghan, Louth... nothing going for them, who would want them
Louth??... No one with a right mind would take on Dundalk & Drogheda
    Mayo/Sligo... Too nice to sell

Dublin is the only county that makes money. We'll be screwed without it. Donegal is probably a drain on the country, but it's the most scenic. Leitrim is the best bet.

Leitrim! Too few people, no real benefits, not too sure we'd get too much for it though!

Why ? What do they know that the rest of us don't?

I would have thought it was closer to no man's land, in which case there'd be no-one there to know anything?

You know, I actually kinda agree with you. Imagine living in Ireland if none of the coastal counties existed. Id hate this place 10 times more!

By all means! We'd be delighted not to have to pay for the f**k ups and corruption of O'Donoghue or Ahern or Lowry or Quinn or Cooper-Flynn....

But we're not taking that weasel with us!
