    I will point out here that before IT Carlow being formed, its members had tiffs with out factions.

    For instance Rachel had declared war on MNC after they tnt'ed her base. And Podge has raided us twice whilst we were weak. So to say they were attacked in their infancy is a stretch. Especially as I recall Rachel claiming Buttany had taken her diamond sword, which was returned to her(or so I was told). By the time of the afformentioned raid, I had only iron gear and weapons. I do remember Podge running around with a gold/iron mix at the time.

    If you say that its an issue of taking advantage of someone, I have hard evidence of examples of this I have suffered.

    Edit: It is hard to control a large faction. You have to provide them a task to complete. If they are attacked you can lose a lot of power quickly in the confusion. However your faction members are not even always online to help out. I have friends and such who would periodically play on the server with me. With a limit of say 5 per faction, that is already a full faction. You could have a group of lads who enjoy playing together as a whole who are subjugated to being separated by such limits.

    Also for the issue of Raiding. My Faction the Dream Team participated in the raid on IT Carlow. We had reasons to go on this raid, it was not simple death matching. AWE attacked us on this raid and for the rest of the map we embarked in a struggle with AWE.

    Server is going up with all plugins for a 1-2 hour long stress test. The official launch will be at 9pm hopefully. Here are some of the config options:


    Factions:
    Max power: 10
    Min power: -5
    Power regen: 1 per 5 minutes
    Power loss while offline: None
    No faction member limit, but large factions will be shown on dynmap, and will have other drawbacks.
    No home/warp/tp commands.

    Dynmap:
    Chat is disabled until I can figure out how to have faction chat only
    Factions with less than 5 members will have their territory hidden
    Players will show on the map by default. However they will be hidden in light levels of 6 or less, or while sneaking.

    Neutral players:
    Players can request to be neutral.
    They will have PvP disabled by default.
    They will be able to use lockette to protect their stuff.
    If an area is fenced off and has a lockette sign to get it, it is considered to be neutral.
    Any griefing of a neutral area/house/whatever will result in a ban.

    Any other questions just ask.

    Never seen so much wining before in my life :pac: If you's want a faction server then be prepared to be attacked, killed, looted etc. And stop crying like a baby. Its the whole point of a faction server!

    That's a pretty smart way to deal with size. Have the other drawbacks been decided on yet?

    Its to stop one faction getting massive and taking everything over. The main drawback will be increased cost of claiming land once the economy plugin is working.

    Have you also thought about how a large faction will have more land, and will therefore suffer far greater as a result of loss in power.
