@theg81der, I wouldn't worry if I were you, you'll have a neat bump & to be honest mine only really started to show in the last two weeks so be prepared to balloon quickly ;)

@Kildareash, my OH doesn't come to the GP combined care apts with me but goes to the hospital ones when he can. Not sure if it's the same in every hospital but the first day he wasn't allowed in to any of the rooms with me - to see the consultant, midwife etc. etc. but when I was at the hospital on Monday some of the Oh's seemed to be allowed go in- maybe it depends on if they are busy. But to be honest I thought it was a waste of time for him if he was just sitting outside waiting...

Anybody know where to get cheap and cheerful pjs? I was having a look and it seems as though maternity pjs cost a fortune & I'll need a few pairs on standby if I do have to go in early... would bigger sizes from penneys or dunnes do the same job!?

Mamaheidi I get some (I'm wearing size 10-12 and I bought 14-16) from dunnes, they are really comfy and I love it

I wouldn't be bothered with maternity pj's. I'm wearing 14/16 dunnes pj's and they'll do for another bit yet.
You'll need nightdresses for hospital pre birth anyway? And pj's for after birth?

I just rang to book antenatal class....shouldn't have put it on the long finger!!! Totally booked up until mid aug!!
Might have to go private for €170!!

Ye all seem to be having lots of dr. Appointments, hospital appointments etc...
I've been the dr twice, once to confirm pregnancy and 2nd time with headaches.
I've had one hospital appointment! Only met midwife, haven't met consultant yet.
Next appointment is to meet consultant in 2 weeks.

I added the pic of my 14 week scan to

Love the baby bump pics :) Have been Googling bumps since the beginning and only in the past week gained a little one of my own.

Here's my little one, tomorrow will be 20 weeks.

I've had one hospital appointment and been to doc twice - once for confirmation and last week for kidney infection.
Next hospital appt is not till end of April, but I see the doc every four weeks. Today is the first of those appointments.
It does seem that every hospital or HSE area is very different. I think it even varies from patient to patient.

Honestly I was getting worried because I wasn't showing much, explaining my off the charts Google searches. Had my second scan last week and little one is growing on schedule. Maybe she/he's a future contortionist :)

    Silly,

I've been to the dr twice - one to confirm pregnancy & the other to have the combined care app. I had one official hospital visit where I met the consultant (for about 2 mins) and did weight, bloods etc. with the midwives. The 2nd time I went was because I kicked up a bit of a fuss about wanting the cervix scan, otherwise I'm not back till April but I will have to meet the GP before that. I have my first scan in two weeks but apparently that's in a separate dept. As Kildareash says I think it depends on hospital and circumstances.

    Loving the bump pics!

I love the bump pics too, they do come in all shapes and sizes, so I wouldn't worry too much.

TMI alert, but in relation to the discharge, mine is a dark yellowy colour - has anyone else this?

Keeping the head down in work. There was another management meeting this morning.

Does anyone else bring the OH's to the appts? Mine wants to come, as he doesn't want to miss out on anything.

OH wants to be at all the hospital apts if I'm being scanned. As I'm doing homebirth, will be seeing the midwife at home for those regular apts so he'll be there anyway for that & will be able to hear heartbeat when she scans me.

Love the pics! Will get OH to take pic of bump tonight. I have 3 large bumps at the front and a large bump at the back :P

I really need to sort out the antenatal classes stuff. I keep thinking I've got LOADS of time for everything and technically I do, but I know I'll be 37 weeks and finally settling down to read my to-do list I wrote 4 months prior!

I've had one GP apt to confirm & one hospital apt. They said not to go to GP til 24 weeks. So I've a stretch from 12 weeks to 22 weeks where I'm seeing no body. I think that's why I'm anxious to feel movement so I'm reassured, don't have a doppler etc.

Anyone doing spring cleans or are you waiting for the summer to do a deep clean before baby arrives?

I had to move all my non-fitting clothes out of wardrobe & drawers to make room for maternity clothes. There'll be no room for baby stuff!

Here's me and my "bump" :p

I got pjs from ebay: they were new: and they are very comfortable! These are the ones I got! The little pink top with them is only okay but the pants and top are lovely! I bought them a little too big though: i bought a 14 which is always what i buy in pjs so that probably why the little top isnt great. Mothercare have that sale on too and have loads of PJs for €10 and €15: but the sizes were off for me.

I got phonecall last night about my antenatal class, got a specialist appt for next Tues for my thyroid (which im very relieved about) and my gestational diabetes test!

March I do get discharge but its always white.... yellow is normally a sign of infection with me: like thrush! I'd ring doc just to be on safe side!

Definitely have noticed an increase, but it's either clear or whitish. Are you having any other signs of possible infection--odor, itching?

I definitely have WAY more discharge, have to wear pantyliners as it's actually going through my underwear :o Mine would be creamy colour, not quite yellow. No harm getting it checked out as it's very easy to get doc to check, bring undies that are "used" so they can see what you're talking about.

I said it to doc last time I was with him as it was brown discharge then and he didn't make anything of it, he sent urine samples off and all clear. Then I had a bleed a few days later, went to hospital and they did a scope/swab and urine sample and I didn't hear anymore, so am presuming its ok - as they didn't say much about it.

It has turned dark yellow now, and am just up and down worrying about the bloomin thing and wanted to check with ye ladies.

Its www.everydaymaternity.com another uk one with postage only 3.95 - expecting delivery tomorrow. will update on quality of these! A bit more expensive than the one above but Im really funny about materials as hate too much polyester / nylon!

    Hope this helps.

    Hi all,
You all have lovely neat bumps - i feel like a monster am growing in every direction - am usually a size 8, have gained about a stone I think - the bump really popped in the last couple of weeks!

Hospitals seem to vary a lot with no. of appointments, I've had 2 gp apts (one to confirm preg and a check up about 3 weeks ago) and two hospital appointments ( one for bloods, dating scan and the other to meet consultant) due at gp again next week and anomoly scan on 14 march.

    Kiwi - enjoy your hols...
Mink - hope all is ok at work?

Not sure who asked about pains in lower abdomen, I've been getting these aswell, I asked Gp the last day I was there she said its very common up to about 20 weeks, she said it can be quite painful as muscles have to stretch to accommodate growing uterus, she said if there bad i could take paracetamol. hope this helps...

    Take care x

    Cute bump!

No word in work yet. If there is anything to hear it will prob be Friday now. Not letting it stress me out. I actually didn't sleep that great last night but for some reason I was full of beans today. I'm hoping that's the end of the tiredness.

Got a bikini wax yesterday just cos I wanted to do something to feel groomed. It's not like that area gets much airing haha. With my hair accumulating on top of my head, it was bound to happen in other areas.

Nice bumps ladies - can`t upload mine but on comparison I closely resemble Silly`s bump- Thankfully we`re due the same day so no need to panic about weight (yet!)
My rant for today.... with all of ye not allowing partners outta sight I`m so mad today I could kick my husband straight out the door. He gave up working last year to concentrate on a new direction careerwise but hasn`t done a tap really since without me nagging and I`m getting well p1ssed off with me working 6 days almost 60 hours so he can watch tv...
I told him earlier that there`s only enough extra money for 2 and after July I know who ill be choosing, don`t think he was listening!

I'm avoiding that show like the plague - it would only freak me out!

Loving all the bumps, big and small...

Going for teh scan on Saturday, can't wait to see my baby :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 173 ✭✭mamaheidi

@Fri.Day - that's so frustrating! Hope your OH gets the message & gets it quickly!

@Javagal - loving that show! It has not only opened my eyes but the OH's too as he watches it with me. He's squeamish at the best of times so it's a great education for him :D

@Kash - are you finding out the sex at the weekend? I'm jealous! I've still a whole 11 days to wait - been on countdown for the last 3 months or so :p

    Phew!!!
I'm so happy to have seen some bumps, makes me feel less of a heifer.
Sorry to hear about the lazy hubby! Hopefully he'll pull his finger out of his ass soon.
You could try printing out vacancy ads from the various websites etc, annoy him so much he'll be dying to get out of the house.

Unfortunately, being married to a farmer during calving I have quite the opposite problem. I hardly see him. When he is around I want us to go out for an hr or so as I would have spent the week working and when I'm not working I'm doing housework etc. but all he wants to do it close the curtains and watch a match. Aargh!

My baby seems very lazy, maybe I need to put on Jedward?!

My hubby bought me two giant fluffy dressing gowns yesterday, I've been moaning that my usual ones don't keep the bump covered, so I was chuffed :)

Girls, I'm back thinking of buggies again.
Liking the iCandy peach at the moment.

Is there any buggy that you can convert to a twin later, but only if you need to. Like I don't want to buy a twin buggy now when I'm only having one! But i'd like the choice to convert to twin if I wish in 18/24 months?
