some delightful mis-spellings in this ad.

you know a car doesn't get serviced much when the mechanic writes the full details of the service on the engine cover in tip-ex. he must be a very talented mechanic though to change the timing belt on a chain driven engine.

Well I'd just prefer the extra refinement and pace of the 3.0d.

And that's fair enough, each to their own.

However I'm not quite sure the 3.0 is worth €10k more than a 190bhp 320 in the same year and spec. :)

I know some rural mechanics who write this stuff in tippex. They wouldn't be the type to stamp the book.

Ah I've seen tip-ex manys a time, just remarking that he wrote a 1000 word essay on the engine cover, not just "full serv, 71k" :P must have taken him a bit of time.

Sure my battery cover in the focus is starting to get fairly populated with tippex at this stage. But seeing as it was already there, I said I'd keep with the tradition. Not a fan of tippex under the bonnet. Everything is documented in a folder/book for the mondeo.

another 10k ek9. i don't think he'l get it with one photo, no tax or test and 260k on the clock, but clearly there's a bit of a trend developing.

    €8,300 now.
I would love an EK9 at some stage, I'd say they're worth the money but it's out of reach for now.

A DC1 is in work at the moment for a bit of work, if in it's knackered state it's still lovely to drive. So now I really want a DC2 as well. :p

You need VVTLi in your life. Just like a DC2 on paper, but ****ter in every regard. But still fun.

    And cheaper, much cheaper.

I'll be honest, if I was going to buy a Celica it would have a 3SGTE in it.
I must get to a meet again though, I'd like a good look at a 190!

This Saab was on sale by a Polish mechanic in July 2014, I was looking at it then, mileage was exactly the same, body work was in poor condition, all scratched, few panels in need of replacement. Be aware guys, mileage isn't right for sure...

Some may be worth the money, but not that example!

QUICK!! Friend of mine crashed it into a truck, only found out it was clocked from insurers as they did valuation assessment.

Driver seat and engine bay look dead dodgey :
    Also only 170bhp

Just curious but why does the seat and engine look dodgy?

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,065 ✭✭✭✭Odyssey 2005

Seat base looks very worn and the engine bay is filthy. I have one with in excess of 300 k and the seat is not that bad(I'm a fat bastard :) ) and the engine bar is spotless, and no I have never cleaned it. It's also 09.

Bit over priced no? Doing a quick look at other ones available might be hard pushed to get that price imo.

It's the only one I can find for sale in Ireland, where did you see all the other ones? There are some FR for sake but not one FR550, there's a difference, and given the condition and history with it I've priced it to reflect everything. I am positive the first person to view and drive will but it tbh.

What extra dose it have over a FR though if you dont count the seats and wheels ?

A quick search says a USB connection also. No difference in performance.

Twin exit exhaust, brake upgrade, these were options that were available on the 550 only.

I'm the 2nd owner so in only going in the paperwork from the original sale.

Maybe I'm wrong and it's a piece of sh1t after all!

Vintage motors forum attack the OP.

    I'm not attacking you nor saying it's a piece of **** ;)

It's a nice car and looks well kept was just wondering if you had priced a bit high :)

The straight wheels but turned steering wheel would set my alarms bells ringing before the seat.

These cars are really becoming affordable, I feel a mid life crises is approaching. :)
