Any word on what the driving will be like in V?

Will it be like IV or more arcadey this time around?

Hope they keep the driving from IV myself!

I think it will be somewhere in between, Rockstar themselves I believe pointed out how it was like driving a boat in IV.

What are gamestop selling V for? €60 isn't it?

    €65

Which means they value RDR and IV at more than they're selling them for. It's a wonder these shops are all closing down lately

Yeah, it's very weird like that. I gave RDR and GTA IV in today pretty much got €55 off the cost of GTA V...crazy, but it gets people in the door I guess. Great deal if you have a few games to offload...their price though seems steep so if you didn't have the games to trade, I probably wouldn't go in there for this release.

On a side note, the FIFA release this year isn't getting a look in in terms of exposure, pre release talk/buzz

Does that mean they value IV and RDR at €25 each? I asked when i was on the phone to them over the weekend, if they had any IVs for PS3 and they told me i could get it for €25 pre-owned or €27 new (silly in itself, really).

Why would they be bothered taking IV for €25 when they'll never shift it for anywhere near that kinda money? Seems a tad silly to me? And definitely counter-productive in running a business (where the general aim is to turn a profit?).

It does seems pretty strange. When I first glanced at the offer I didn't really take any notice as although those offers seem really good at first, they inevitably turn out that you'll have to trade in FIFA14 or some other game that gets released not long before that game.

It says it's €60 on their site. I normally don't get games from Gamestop, but making an exception as I want it at midnight :)

Its €59.95 in store, at least it is in my local Gamestop

I'm pretty sure that xtravision will be doing their trade-in 2, get the game for 4.99 offer with this game. Though I haven't asked in store myself.

They claim to accept more games than gamestop too!

    Tracking Device :D

15 boards crew members in a server and 1 French guy on his own. Can you imagine the fun if he robs a boardsies Banshee with a tracking device on it.

I doubt they will as GTA doesn't need any incentives to sell, but anyway, considering you can't preorder the game with this deal, you'll be waiting 3-4 weeks at least for stock of the game to come in id say.

Gamestop are selling GTA 4 new for €27, and Red Dead Redemption new for €20. So they're giving more of a reduction for two used games, than what they sell them for new?

You can even buy them cheaper than that if you get the 2 for €30 deal. e.g. Red Dead Redemption and GTA:Episodes from Liberty City are currently €30 together new in Gamestop, they both qualify for the trade in deal, so for €39.99 you get GTA V in Gamestop.

Bizarre that they're running this deal.

EDIT: Didn't realise you couldn't pre-order with this deal, that changes things somewhat.

It might be of use to someone :)

If you live in the middle of nowhere maybe. If you live in a major city like Dublin, Cork etc. you'll be unlucky not to get it on the day.

Eh, I preordered GTA V yeaterday in GameStop with this trade in deal. ..only have €9.99 to pay off now :-)

Someone else said you couldn't. I figured that was the catch.

So they're effictively selling for €39.99, or less obviously if you already have games to trade in.
I wonder why they're pricing It so cheap?

Interesting they way they are referring to it as the 'Official' trailer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,244 ✭✭✭✭B.A._Baracus

Sounds like a story trailer with the word official.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭xerces

Would it be the trailer they use for TV and stuff, like this one for San Andreas back in the day?

Will be the TV spot, yeah.

Haha, I love the top comment that was there when I clicked in:

Rockstar when this game comes out how strongly will you laugh all the way to the BANK?? "

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,663 ✭✭✭marcbrophy

It's amazing that this is (from what I've read) the biggest ever game in terms of pre-orders and they've yet to put an ad on the TV :)

Yet, Saints Row IV which has TV spots sponsoring shows on FOX and Comedy Central (and probably others) running for weeks now, will be lucky to sell 1/10th of the units :D

I remember waiting for san andreas just like V, checking updates everyday, and remember thinking how class the graphics looked, especially the orange skies at dusk. Looking at that vid, the graphics looks shyte :D

Just finished 4 leaf clover in gta 4 and have a few hundred grand and nothing to spend it on. Can't wait to splash the cash in V.

That was a big fault with IV tbh. Very little to spend on bar guns, and the only real benefit of guns is being able to do more missions and earn more money.

Course you could also splash out on a night of bowlink... :pac:

You never really had to buys guns in GTA IV. After a while all the ammo you need could just be picked up from the ground. The only thing I brought was dollar burgers and armor. Can't wait to buy cars, houses, planes and the rest.
