    Hmmmmm

Yes, negro, like negrito, can also be used as a term of endearment(when used in the correct context) in some countries but my point was that people invested a lot of time into investigating everything about the word ''negrito'' and that would have been a little needless if it wasn't even the word used.:p

Luis Suarez doesn't live in South America. He has lived in Northern Europe for five years. It's not acceptable to refer to somebody by their ethnic origin in Holland or England, it's considered racist.

The argument about the word he used and its meaning in South America doesn't work for me.

How much English does he speak ?

It doesn't matter, even if he speaks very little. If he was walking around Amsterdam calling black people that word he would have been pulled up on it by somebody.

I guess we'll see how true that is when Terry gets his time in the spotlight.

That's right, all my life in fact.

I have been openly critical about Terry and my team consistently. I can do so because i am not bias. I don't blindly back players, managers or owners just because i support the club. I'm not a head in the sand merchant, i can say Terry is most likely guilty but Liverpool fans struggle to do the same with Suarez, when imo all signs are pointing to him being guilty.

    Rubbish.

If there was TV footage of a liverpool player being openly abusive I don't think Liverpool fans would be so defensive of their player.

Lets wait and see if we get any further facts after the verdict. I agree with you though that a fan's allegiance to a club shouldn't cloud what they view as right or wrong, regardless.

only because there's so many facts we aren't privy to yet.

99% of what is going on in this thread is speculation.

i don't know what's wrong with most Liverpool fans wanting evidence in front of them before condemning their player.

    baffling.

What if he had been walking around Amsterdam saying Negrito (and not Negro as many on here are saying) to both white and black people in the same way that Dani Pacheco and Javier Hernandez, to name but two spanish speakers, have done on twiter and/or in interviews?

Negrito is a word that gets used on mainland europe by some Spanish speakers although it is more widely used in parts of South America. So it is very possible that he had used that word in Holland and not been pulled up on it.

    Spot on.

When Diouf spat at supporters whilst in a Liverpool top he was heavily criticised in Liverpool and by Liverpool supporters all over the world. There were no excuses made for his vile behaviour, and he was regarded in very low terms.

A lot of people twittering saying the press in Uruguay report Suarez is banned for 6 games! Probably bollocks! Dunno how they would know before anyone else!!

At lunchtime the rumour around Liverpool was an 8 match ban. Given the hearing is still ongoing it's safe to say both rumours are made up.

I didn't see too many defending Suarez over the finger incident, you must have ignored that.

I know Luis Suarez gave an interview where he admitted to making the comments that upset Evra.

That's evidence. Yet everyone is ignoring it and acting like Johnny Cochrane.

This whole thing gets more farcical by the minute, it seems likely they haven't been able to decide and are having trouble coming up with a verdict that sits somewhere in the middle.

There's nothing to defend. Most football fans agree that the finger charge is nonsense.

Doesn't really matter anyway. Making comments that upset Evra is still a long way from making racist comments.

Well he'll have to defend it as he's been charged for it. I think the vast majority of pool fans agree he was stupid to do it and as long as he gets treated the same as others charged for similar, its grand.

Tbh, I shouldn't be entertaining willmunny, even Chelsea fans on here don't.

I suppose that's fair enough. But its another incident to add to his long list of less than favorable acts. If Lucas was to swap places with Suarez i would give him the benefit of the doubt because he is an honest pro.

Suarez on the other hand has a long list of despicable acts to his name, we all no what they are so i wont go over them. I think he is more than capable of Racism and IMO is guilty in this case, only my opinion of course.

With his checkered history can you really blame anyone for holding that opinion?

Also Evra is an honest player so i don't think he would lie about something like this, as he didn't play the race card with the Chelsea groundsmen.
