    According to the book 'Climate, Weather & Irish Agriculture', the first air frosts of autumn occur, on average with a return period of 2 years, on the 15th October in the east midlands.*

    A small possibility we may see the first air frost of the season tonight in that very same area, just 4 days later than this average date. :cool:

    *based on 61-90 average.

    There is indeed a ridge of high pressure in over the country at the moment with pressure of 1031hpa at Valentia on the 2300 reports.
