    Carbon tax increase on home heating oil is deferred until May same as it was last year.

    I called 3 suppliers today to order 500 ltr kerosene,

    Corrib Oil = 245e
    Cosgrave = 245e
    Naughtons = 239e

    all prices inc. VAT
    so I went with Naughtons, my regular supplier, happy with that price.

    Just to provide an update - prices as of yesterday for 1,000 litres of kerosene delivered to the two houses mentioned above (500 litres per household).

    Estuary oil - 60c a litre including VAT
    Feenagh oil - 59c a litre including VAT
    Feale oil - 58c a litre including VAT

    Went with Feale oil in the end, they delivered today. I do not believe any of the providers around the Limerick city area will deliver out this far.

    Cosgraves - 290
    Naughtons - 300
    Shreelawn - 320
    Corib - 300

    Ordered in last few days also - Cosgraves were best value around.....For 1000L they were 56c - was a whole 60 Euro cheaper than one of the other Limerick based Companies.

    Whatever you do don't just buy from same Company each time.......

    Didn’t need much Kero to keep the central heating going for hopefully just a while more before the warmer days so decided not to buy in bulk. Instead I bought a couple of drums worth from Tara Oil on the Dock Rd. At 70.1c/L. I was happy seeing as oil has shot up dramatically in the last few weeks. Cheaper than the filling station on the Old Cork Rd (80.9c) and Texaco on the Roxbury Rd (77.1c).
    Might be an option for some.

    Jaysis, that's eye-watering

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,389 ✭✭✭jonski

    He just delivered it there, I was expecting him to have someone riding shotgun ............. with an actual shotgun .

    It won't be long before we insist on it being delivered in a plain white van under cover of darkness for fear of it being robbed :D
