I'm curious to read these studies DeV,can't imagine how we've managed to tap into what people are thinking.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Yeah, I reckon it's a lot closer than a lot of people think but women are more shrewd about it for fear they'll be seen as a slut. When you get to know them well enough, I know some absolutely FILTHY minded women who basically turn just about anything you say into an in-your-endo.

I think women think about sex more than men. Why?because it is a woman who eat the apple of temptation first ..not a man :D

Men have to release their... eh, "sex drive" once every few days whereas women have an automated system that does it once a month.

Guys think about sex more because we have to. We don't have a limited amount of seed that disposes of itself on a monthly basis, it's more-or-less constantly in production meaning we must get rid of it "manually" causing a larger sex drive.

Go back to biology class, your body does dispose of it.

And there's no such thing as an "automated system" to dispose a sex drive. In fact, women are actually quite horny during their period.

I think hormones and lifestyles come into it quite a bit. My sex drive is through the roof and I get very frustrated very easily (most of the time) and I find I have a mind geared towards sex/nudity/activity etc more than most. I'm female but not "average" as in I see myself as one of the lads mostly. Having said that, I've looked very brazen with some men who were quite shy and unfamiliar with anything sexual, and it also has to deal with the levels of exposure they've had to stuff like that growing up, if it's been seen as ok or seedy or whatever. I think the myth that women don't think about sex too often was busted a long time ago anyway.

But am quite happy being an almost constantly horny b!tch :pac:

Through wetdreams and masturbation? You didn't evolve to dump your seed on bed sheets.

As they would be, all that ovulation and what not.

Guys evolved to ride everything left, right and center.
    Women didn't.

Men's "obsession" with sex isn't a social factor, it's an evolutionary one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,559 ✭✭✭Millicent

    You have seen one?

Yes, but only from a distance. Mother, the society ladies and I observed it from a respectable distance, but none of us touched it as we were simply undone by the sight of it. People said it was the worst swingers' party they'd ever been to.

Well there's also the fact that your body will break it down and reabsorb it!

Fair enough, but your body doesn't produce large amounts of sperm just to reabsorb it. It's looking to use that sperm.

The idea that the rate of seed production and libido are related is hardly new, and the thinking that men's "promiscuity" is predominantly a result of society is ridiculous.

You can't blame men for being men.

You believe men are more promiscuous than women? I'd disagree.

I wouldn't say the sex drive in women is underestimated just not fully understood.

"Women need a reason to have sex men a place"; Billy Crystal, which probably holds true.

Biologically and evolutionary it really is all about babies. Us men can fkuc and go away while a woman maybe left with a 9 month package, then she will risk her life by giving birth, then she is landed with a needy child.

So a woman has to be more selective in her choosing. Although times have moved on and with modern medicine, women biologically are largely in control of their birthing process, also a child born out of a pair bond may no longer mean poverty for the woman and that child.

But the sex part of her brain still is the same as it was in ancient times. And so is ours.

men like sex - no surprises there

women like sex too - as a younger man I was surprised and then delighted by this "discovery"

women like good sex even better btw

follow that logic and you soon work out what you need to do guys;):D

And you'd be right. The quotes signified a euphemism because I couldn't think of a better word.

+1. While I know some men whose bedpost has been reduced to kindling because of all the notches in it, I know many more men who have had few enough encounters and some with with very few. I've known of a few men I suspected were virgins at 30, but no women. The women I've known had on average more sexual partners over their lives so far than the men. Of the couples I know well, I can think of only two where he had more partners than her. I've known more women who cheat too. Both genders can lie or exaggerate, but on average men overcook the numbers, on average women undercook theirs.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Yeah, but only if you consider being able to get sex anytime you want an advantage.

I think men and women equally think of sex a lot but some women don't while men tend to a lot more. Men are more visual but may not be as discreet when it comes to sex and sexual innuendoes. While women are more emotional when it comes to sex even thinking about sex there is some kind of bond and attachment when they think about it, its just just the flirty and visual side. Women don't show that they are thinking about sex too much while men do when they see an attractive woman and so on.

I think, for me at least it varies on phases, rather than mood. well i suppose the phases would be based on mood though. I seem to go through phases where I'm quite interested to not so interested. I think my current phase is dying down a bit.

I'm like this too. I go through phases of wanting to go out, get a different woman every night like a bunny rabbit on viagra; to wanting to be in a nice, romantic relationship; to having no energy whatsoever to put towards sex or women at all. And, looking back at my life, these phases aren't massively influenced by what's come before it. It's fairly random.
