Bringing the XPS, I hear the internet in Halls is quite restrictive though. If all else fails and we can't play Steam games, I'm up for Fifa.

And I've never played MtG but it sounds fun, is it expensive though?

You can't connect to steam/battle.net from the college network unless you have Secret Methods, I'm afraid.

Most recent game: Football Manager 2005 on PS2 , just to prove how out dated it is, the highest rated player in my team is Damien Duff, he's keeping Robben out of the team :P I just signed Alan Shearer from Newcastle for £200k because he's the top goalscorer in the league :o

If someone can bring a more recent console and Fifa 12 that would be amazing haha!

So it's a good idea to befriend the CS wizards early I guess

DU pirate party will be able to help you there :)

Their website is pirates.ie or email them at pirate@csc.tcd.ie to join up and get the access level you desire.

By the way any incoming first years dont join the DU gamers society thinking its gonna be fifa all day:D

Yep, your best bet is probably sci-fi.

They have tourneys and the like. Street Fighter, COD, Super Smash Bros... They've a 360, ps3 and a wii. Dunno if they do LAN stuff actually... I have seen posters up for halls LAN parties before, but tbh I didn't look who they were organized by. Sci-fi also have movie nights and junk if you're into that sorta thing.

But yeah, the whole SC2 thing on the college internet... (didn't seem to work for steam iirc)... but I'm pretty certain you can run it on the CS network. Granted, it's the TCD network in halls, and you only get access to CS if you're in CS or Engineering (and Maths?).

They may have fixed that since the last time I saw it. It was probably about Feb last time I saw anyone doing it....

Those looking for some casual gaming can feel free to join DUCSS (CS society) We have a 360, ps3, dreamcast, ps2 and a massive 42" tv and couches (no wii, cause lol wii). We're in the hamilton and open most of the day (just ask at the stand for deets.)

We hold in house tournaments and stuff, some racing, some fighting whatever people want to play really. We also have a good few starcraft heads in to soc as well.

You can't, basically. Well I wasn't able to anyway. Unless you've got your own dongle or something. Unless you have a laptop with two ethernet ports, then it may be possible.
