Hello fellow gamers if there are any of you out there, this is going to be an introductory thread for all of you.

House/room numbers and most recent game you played perhaps?

    House/Room number: 88.11.04

Most recent games : Witcher 2 and deus ex human revolution

:D (hoping there are at least a few gamers)

    Are you PC gamers?

Witcher 2 should tell you, until now its a PC only game. What about you, PC, Xbox360, PS3?

You probably mean Crysis 2. Crysis 1 was a PC only game.

I only have my laptop. Although I can comfotably run most games on it at the moment, Deus Ex: HR was a bit of a struggle though.

Also that processor must've set you back a bit =P

not really, those new processors are cheapish and really easy to overclock to 4.6ghz

Well it's fun, I'd imagine it'd be really good to play with a group of people you know. I got it back when the ARG was running for Portal 2 and they were selling all those indie games for really low prices.

    It goes Building.Apartment.Room. So 88 is House 88, 88.02 is House 88 Apartment 2, 88.02.01 is House 88 Apartment 2 Room 1.

FYI, you can play LAN games across the college network, which includes people on campus I do believe (I'm in house 50, so no halls for me... also I'm a creepy 4th year).

Starcraft 2 is the best game.

DUCSS will pay you to go to korea if you get into grandmasters.

HoN is blatantly better than SC2. LESS UNITZ MORE SKILLZ.

Start playing Starcraft, HoN and League Of Legends if you want to be cool, we might even left you into the up and coming ESPORTS SOCIETY!!

The real question is, will you switch to DOTA 2 when it comes out?

Also I seem to be the only guy into Nintendo here. I'm currently playing Xenoblade on the wii. I hate most jrpgs but this one is fun as hell

    I'm in 90.04.03 and I'm a pc gamer. I play DOW 2 and starcraft 2 mostly.

I'm bringing my desktop to halls.

    GA-890XA-Ud3 mobo.
X1 5870. (I'm planning on getting another soon although I only have a free X8 slot which might lead to some performance loss)
Phenom II X4 965 3.4 ghz. (I could probably OC it but I'm using a stock cooler. A decent cooler is on my to do list.)
    4 GB (X2 2GB) DDR3 1333mhz.
X2 250 GB ****ty hard drives.
All ensconced in a phantom NZXT case.

I think that the GA-890XA-Ud3 mobo has RTS elements. It's close enough

I used to play red alert 2 and C&C generals for a while but I found the later titles lacking :(.

I loved Medieval 2 TW and empire TW although I didn't pick up Shogun. Damn leaving cert.

Nice CPU and nice OC, but why two 5870s? If you use Crossfire you have Microstutters and a higher input lag. Does your system have an SSD? But overall, very nice rig.:D

A Gamer shouldn't buy them any more, the i7-2600K is faster than the i7-990X in most games.

Nice rig, wouldn't buy a second 5870, you'll get microstutters and a higher input lag. And I would buy an SSD. The NZXT Phantom case looks cool!

I've used crossfired 4850s before and noticed no micro-stuttering during my day to day gaming. When I ran Supcom or Crysis with an fps counter though I did notice fps drops to about 35 for about .5 second every minute or so. TBH micro-stutter doesn't bother me, I don't perceive it without looking for it in the first place. I honestly believe the whole micro-stuttering thing is blown out of proportion and any disadvantages of running crossfired cards are outweighed by the advantage of getting a large boost in performance for a fraction of the cost of buying a new single GPU.

That being said however I've played Arkham Asylum on a 5870 X2 set-up and noticed significant frame jumpiness when I looked closely. My friend said it was something to do with the in-game physics and ati cards but looking back it seems like micro-stuttering.

+SSD is on my to-do list after a second GPU and a decent cooler. My computer has been evolving over the years and parts are bought as I get the money. The case set me back a good bit :D.
