Great, I have a few weeks more then...

Can the Galaxy Tab 10.1 be bought with it?

    Great review.

A friend got a samsung galaxy 10.1 recently, also said it was sluggish. So rooted it and installed some overclocking app. Blisters along now. Trick was to move idle mhz to same speed as full speed, ie minimum and maximum the same

BTW 10.1 with 3g is 499 stg from amazon.

Have the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the Overcome ROM on it and there is a big speed improvement. Which one he using?

Trying to order the Iconia A500 with the voucher for my mate in England. I set my account up with his address etc. but get a message saying they can't ship it to the UK?? I can change the country to any other country and it works.
Anyway if it comes to it I'll ship to me and send it over to him, but I'm sure the avforum guys were getting orders through for the Touchpad to the UK?

Won't this drain the battery a lot quicker ?
I.e. not using idle sleep as cpu will always be maxed out.

order G9 from FNAC on Oct 20 , still at 'Commande en préparation' , fairly poor service that they cant ship an item within 8 days of receiving an order.

It does but not drastically, something like 15% less life. Still don't have the name of the app.

this could actually be archos' fault as I think they themselves are having supply problems

Order was cancelled this morning. Their email stated multiple attempts to get payment on card were made. Contacted aib ,no authorisation attempted since initial order when they did a one euro authorisation which aib called me to confirm

I would say if it still as Commande Preparation at start of next week to get in contact with them ,and maybe your bank to clear/confirm transaction.

I have AIB visa , got calls both times to clear transaction , they do a dummy €1 authorization/clearance first to ensure the credit card is valid. But for whatever reason they did attempt to authorization again for my Archos , althugh they claimed to.
You should be fine ,I think i was just unlucky.

might have one last go off FNAC ! , this looks interesting ,i would have a worry about battery life and speakers on a cheaper tablet though , cant find any reviews.
Is it just me or the FNAC website half bate all weekend ?

Found a review for the 827 model which seems to be the 8 inch version of this one but with 4gb instead of the 8gb

That looks like quite a decent little tablet. I might go test it out in the FNAC this week if they have it in store.

What new tablets are coming out before Xmas? Will there be any coming out that have an ultra HD screen?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 864 ✭✭✭Rooy

Is it just me but all weekend fnac website is appearing as a big text list with no graphics or colour ? Like that for me on different laptop. No Internet issues

seems okay this morning , i have bought the mpman with the voucher , 3rd time lucky hopefully and no problems with bank/authorization.
It has gone straight to 'commande prepartation' and no call from bank so feeling more confident.

Anybody got one a voucher that they are not using?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,213 ✭✭✭moonboy52

I must have looked at that page 1000 times trying to decide what to get.

I just placed an order for the Acer iconia Tab 10.1".

€254 is the best deal on that page in my opinion.

It is my first tablet so i hope i like it :D

The only reason I got one was because of the voucher! Was unsure if i'd need/use it!

So handy though! Great for travelling/on the couch and all the things you do on your phone, but with more screen to work with!

    Thanks for the feedback Alt_M.

I find my laptop too awkard when on the couch or in bed and my phone is too small and no flash support.

Having a fully powered USB port was the decider for me.

I will write a mini review when i get it :p

EDIT: AIB were on the ball i must say. They phoned me about 30 seconds after i placed the order to confirm the transaction.
