I'm an incoming first year too and I'm even more worried as I'm not even from the country, i mean ive been living here for the last 5 years, but still, im afraid im just gonna be standing there on my own looking at people and not being able to make any friends whatsoever... this is doing my head in. But yeah, what can you do but go and try... xD anyone else here doing English Literature and History? (TSM) if so, let me know x

Just a thought Jonathan, you can banish my idea to hell, but what about having a starting college this year/wanna meet up at freshers week thread kinda thing? For people doing the same course or having the same interest to PM each other and meet up at Freshers week?

I'm no Jonathan but I think that's GENIUS. I'm an international kid and am going to Ireland by my lonesome self. How come there aren't any freshers group on facebook or whatever for our year? There were some for the previous years. /:

    So. Excited.

Search "Trinity Freshers" on Facebook, there's one for our year already up and running (it has one of the grey-stone buildings as it's profile picture)

That profile page is unofficial, run by a separate private promotions company. The event page is run by Ents.

CSLL has between like 0 & 5 people ever year, so your odds of finding another firstie on here arent super(there are a few older ones about). There's 50 odd CS though so there are few of them knocking about as above. Enjoy not doing DLD:)

Ah thanks. Funny the fresher's page will be my friend on fb. Haha, easily amused.

On average, how many girls are there doing CS?

Could anyone explain the process for transferring to a different course? Assuming I have the requirements and enough points (which I will)

I didn't think through doing french and history enough. Also my parents are convinced I'll end up unemployed afterwards....:P

Hey ho, I don't know if I'm posting this in the right thread, but sure, I'll risk it.
Can anyone give me some more info regarding Free Fees? Especially the additional notes part:
    (i) The definition of an E.U. student is different from the College’s definition of an E.U. student for fee purposes. This could result in a student being classified as E.U. by the College but not being eligible for “Free Fees”.
    I'm a bit confused... :O

Exact Same....French too.....except i was torn between that and irish.
I think i'll be at a loss because i've absolutely no CS experience, and i keep thinkin that everyone there doing it as a hobby already or somethin! haha...i'll manage tho....cant freakin wait!

I dunno about CSLL, but for our CS class I think its about 50/50 know some/a lot about computers vs know relatively nothing. If you like problem solving you'll be fine.

So if I'm reading this correctly, everybody attending college for the first time this year has to return the yellow form (FRS1) to the Treasurer's Office, correct?

Just to warn anyone who said they're doing science, I'm going to stalk you with some private messages! If anyone's feeling shy or nervous feel free to send me a message. I'm a culchie as well but I've done summer courses in DCU so I know plenty of Dubs and can't wait to start living in Dublin and make loads of new friends =D oh, and I'm also staying in halls ;D so drop me a line if you're interested!
