You might get taken over by the Stawberries again this year if you're lucky.

Aaaaah, it's exciting seeing other people who are starting too :) Anyone doing Maths or English? I'll literally know nobody, and my patchy knowledge of Dublin combined with my awful sense of direction mean I'll need to make friends fast purely to find the college itself :P

    Maths here! Can't wait!

Can be a pain to queue up for but getting a locker can be so handy and a worthwhile investment in my opinion.

A locker on campus? Hadn't thought about that. How might I get me one of those??

Queue up first day lectures start. In some cases you need to be there from 7 to get a good one. €40 for the year but well worth it.

Where are the lockers located? From what i've read of earlier threads, there are lockers in the Hamliton building and the Panoz. Everyone seems to prefer the ones in the Hamliton but considering i'm doing Pharmacy it'd make a lot more sense for me to take one in the Panoz. What's so great about the ones in the Hamliton anyway?

I think most people who get them do science etc (lab coats and gear). I've heard they're bigger in some areas but you still pay 40 regardless

Hamilton and Panoz are technically the same building. (Anyone who says otherwise is kinda splitting hairs) the hamilton ones are just on the ground floor and a little easier to get to from the library or if you're just passing by. Panoz ones and just in the basement. It's less 2 minutes away. There's a VERY limited number of bigger lockers in the arts block but they're like goldust.

I'm really nervous about this this whole college deal too....I know a fair few going to trinity. I'm from dublin but my parents are culchies so I'm not so bad :)

I'm down for a TSM in trinity at the minute (french and history) but I'm hoping I transfer to science if possible. (no idea what I was thinking when I did my cao....)

I live like ten minutes from the trinity halls. I'm less nervous after reading this .

You get to blow shít up and make stuff that can be used in bio and chemical weapons, which leads to more shít being blown up.

    That is pretty cool.

I'm doing Science too, really excited! I'm from the country but have lived in Dublin for the last two years for school, and I'm living in the same accommodation so it's just getting used to college and making nice friends that will be my challenge.

One thing I found when starting a new school was that you should always try to sit beside new people even when you've met a couple already. Sure it's nice to see the familiar face of someone you met the day before but if you just continue making a beeline for the same person you're not gonna get talking to others as easily in lectures and stuff. I know it's different for college with all the societies and events but it's just something I've noticed :)

Why didn't any of my friends get into Trinity? They left me with no choice, now I have to talk to people on the first day... *accepts challenge*.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52 ✭✭OrlaB12693

You can talk to me! :D... my friends have left me in the same predicament! :o

I'm really starting to think I'm the only person doing Business Studies and Russian. It hardly seems popular anyway!

Also nervous about starting. Not sure how I'm going to work night events I actually want to go to *cough*still underage*cough* but as long as there are plenty of day events too I'm sure it'll balance out!

I'm not living in Halls or the city either. I'm staying at home up in Balbriggan and commuting. I never even thought it would be harder to make friends! It better not be.

I commuted from Swords for my 4 years and I'm leaving with some fantastic friends :) Make the effort to talk to people and you'll be fine!

English and History here =) Dublin is pretty much foreign territory to me, but I like getting lost so it shouldn't be too bad ;)

can i just attempt to nip this D4 business in the bud.
I'm am from the country but i despise this whole country-city divide thing cos it's all in people's heads.
I've made friends from all over Dublin and no not all people from Dublin 4 walked straight out of a ross o carroll kelly book.
