That looks the business. It would suit my father down to the ground. Have you a link?

    I got it on Satworld:
    http://www.satworld.ie/amiko-alien-2-triple-plus-tuner.html

Bear in mind it's not just plug and play, you have to do a fair bit of research to see if it suits your needs and it also helps to know some Linux.
From using the box so far I think it's great.

    Not quite today though ;)
Over the next few months, we’re rolling out a new look Homepage for the Sky Guide on compatible Sky+ HD boxes.

Aye, a few months for the Samsung, Pace and Amstrad DRX780.

I've the Pace box, which has already been made notably lethargic after the last update. Dunno how well it'll cope with the new update.

Do you reckon the updates are making the boxes a bit sluggish even without the card trick?

Its just that I have noticed my own box a tad unresponsive especially when FF/rewind. It takes that couple of seconds to move up through the gears as they say. I dont even use the NI card these days.

Is the new epg on the download stream or are they leaving the present version on it as a back up?

Anyone know if old Thompson Sky HD boxes will be affected.

Just set one up for my uncle, it gives UK EPG without a card.

The previous version will always remain on the DR stream when a new version starts to roll out until the new update has been proven to be stable.

It's the main purpose of the DR system.

Deffinetly, I tried an old pace box I have running R008 last week, it's just generally sluggish when moving through the menu's.

There was also a few people posting on the sky forum last year about it when R008 started rolling out.

Are you using a NI card? It looks like the usual 998 problems on other uk cards.

As far as I know, only the NI or CI cards can be combined with the ROI epg and even that has dependencies on having a non-HD sub and certain Sky HD boxes. What your looking for is unlikely to work. However, in the early days of the trick, people reported stacking various cards onto the ROI epg so maybe it could work. It essentially involved the same process as described in the trick (post 1) and inserting each card in succession with the desired channels tuned in other channels and favourited.

I have a NI card and the swap trick works great for me with UTV and Channel 5 on the EPG. I'm wondering if I add HD to my subscription what effect this will have on my setup?

It'll sort of work, You'll have to use the blue button to record the trick channels as they won't appear on the epg. Better off to avoid it.

Death by blue button... If you like watching channel 998 every few minutes. ..

Which also defeats the purpose of having a NI card (which are hard enough to come by).
