if its a 19 Chamade yer after
I have 3/4 of an engine, a Boot, 2 wing mirrors, a headlamp & passenger seat in various colours
I may be interested in a full car in a few months.

My father used to have a 1990 Ren Chamade 19 diesel and I'd love to get one as he has passed away.

Not really in a rush with it as I am busy with another car for the moment.

at one point I had a 1.4 Hatchback my Mother had a 1.9 Turbo Diesel and another Brother had a green 1.4 Chamade MY neighbours across the fields had 2 red Diesel Vans and the guy down the road from us had a Purple 16V

for a car that was SO Common i'm really surprised at the lack of them anywhere 10-15 years later

We had a Leone in the house when I was a kid, loved it to bits! Great noise from the engine and it had lots of room. I would love to make a rally car out of one.

I wouldn't consider it the most exciting (though I loved the look of the coupe) and they're made of very thin metal, but they're damn well rustproofed. It's a totally sensible design, and an un-killable car too!

    Here's mine:

There is a 1990 example that lives around Ballinteer:

    Other than that, I haven't seen a Phase 1 in donkey's years.

not many Mark II Ford Fiestas left around, they used to be everywhere. Old model beetles seem to have faded away also

Thinking about cars in my estate/area at time:

    Talbot Samba/Pug 104, Citroen AX, Pug 604, teardrop Opel Kadett, Opel Rekord/Senator (a real shame), Mk2. Fiestas, BMW 2500 (E3), Metro/Montego/Maestro, Renault 18, Rover SD1, original Rover 200/400, Triumph Acclaim, Volvo 440 and 480, Rover 800, Fiat 127/Ritmo.

We had the precursor to this (basically same car) - a 1986 'L' series.. 1.8 with LPG conversion..loved that car.. v, high specced for it's day but the condensation from the LPG tank killed it with rust.. it's sitting beside my parents house on blocks as mechanically it's perfect (even after 250,000 miles), but the bodywork/chassis is shot.. the dream of restoring it or salvaging the LPG system out of it lives on...

I miss seeing the 3 Suburau XT's that were around Listowel about 20 years ago. One was a Dubai import and spent it's time parked in or near Charles street as I recall.

    Renault 19 "Supervan"

I worked for a Renault specialist from 89-96 and we painted up the bodykits, spoilers etc for new R19 Supervans, R5 Vans, R19 Chamades, etc etc. (I have a new handbook for a Chamade somewhere too actually!)

True, that R19 Vans/'Supervans' were plentiful in the 90's!

I think a large part of the attraction of the 19 Supervan was the power steering, central locking, and electric windows - did any other carvan have these in the early 90s?

Talbot Solara. We had 3 of these sh*t boxes growing up. They disappeared very quickly off the scene. Don't think there was any left on the roads 6 or 7 years after they were dropped

Wasn't there an ad for them when they were new: 'I saw your Solara up on Leeson Street..' or something?

Has anyone seen a working Citroen BX recently? I haven't. I noticed one for sale on Donedeal recently.

    Full?id=6573623

They were a brilliant car and very comfortable. Had a 1.9dtr all the bells and whistles. I know where there's a white one parked up in Limerick. Looks usable but on an English plate :P

My Dad bought a new one of them when he retired, after a couple of years the engine sounded like a bag of nails and the gearbox was a hit and miss affair.

The one in the pic could also be a late Alpine, as it's cut off at the C post. The Solara and Alpine had very similar noses as they were being run out around 86 as Rapiers and Minxs. I can also recall the Solara being pushed heavily in Ireland at launch. Was there some assembly in Ireland maybe.

I doubt many Talbot Sambas have survived here either.

Alpine had bigger third light window.
