Danny O'Sullivan and Paddy Woodgate start in place of David Shaw and Kevin Foley for the Kildare minors.

feel sorry for Foley, bit inconsistent though. Anything wrong?

    AI MFC Semi Final:

    Kerry 0-11 Kildare 0-7 (HT)

We started well but have gone completely out of the game. I think we are flattered to be within four. The quality of ball into Hyland, Kelly and Robinson is poor. They look threatening on the rare occasions they do get it. Big performance needed in the second half.

Another year of falling well short once we get out of Leinster.

Not that it would have made much of a difference to the result, you have to question the wisdom of halting the minor club championship for a month and encouraging minor players not to play with their senior club teams.

Didn't fall well short at all last year. We came out of Leinster and halted momen tum somewhat. Fell shirt against Tipp but could easily have won that. That was soul destroying for the lads.

That is some Kerry team though. Hammering everything in frond of them. Clifford could be up there with Gooch in a few years. Best of luck to them.

We didn't perform at all against a Tipp team with an extra man for most of the second half. They were also beaten out the gate in the final.

In 2013 we were well beaten by Roscommon in the quarter final when again we had an extra man for a good portion of the game.

In 2014 we were well beaten by Kerry in the quarter final.

Agreed that was an exceptional Kerry team today but it's a sour note to end the year on. The standard in Leinster is evidently miles off the other provinces and doesn't prepare teams for what they will face beyond the province. You can get away without a sweeper against teams like Laois, Offaly and Wicklow but we should have been prepared to adapt against a team like Kerry.

That Kerry minor team are some outfit, some the football they played was breathtaking, nevertheless Kildare were very poor apart from the first 20.

R2 winners play the R3 winners.

I don't think repeat pairings from R1 and R2 are permitted so that means Sarsfields can only play Athy, Johnstownbridge or Naas having played Carbury in R1 and Maynooth in R2 already.

Moorefield have already played JTB in R2.

Celbridge have played Athy in R1 and Naas in R2 so will face either Carbury or JTB/Maynooth.

Confey can face any of the four R3 winners. They beat Larries in R1 and Leixlip in R2 and both lost in R3 today.

Are they waiting til the replay is played to do the draw?

As an aside, trying to find out information on the Kildare GAA website is torturous. It needs a serious overhaul

JTB Maynooth hasn't been played at all yet, scheduled for Friday, draw should be after that game

    SFC R3:

    Maynooth 3-9 Johnstownbridge 1-13

JTB were up by six points at half time. Maynooth outscored them in the second half by 2-5 to 0-3. Sean Hurley played for JTB after being released from his contract by Freemantle midweek.

    IFC Quarter Final Draw

    Round Towers v Straffan
    Ballyteague v Raheens
    Clogherinkoe v St. Kevins
    Suncroft v Two Mile House

Sarsfields v Athy the clear pick of the draw. Athy will be keen to avenge the county final defeat from last year but they will have to reach a level of performance that they haven't shown all year to take out Sarsfields. Celbridge seem to have the Indian sign over Carbury recently and I would expect that to continue. Moorefield will be too streetwise for Maynooth. Confey v Naas is very hard to call.

Intermediate is a minefield as always. Towers over Straffan is the only one I'd call with any confidence.

I would be very surprised if Confey don't beat Naas. They're proving very hard to beat. The first game against Leixlip they were missing a few players too so I would ignore that draw.

    SFC Quarter Final half time:

    Celbridge 1-13 Carbury 0-6

Fergal Conway's goal before half time looks to have put this one to bed.

Not at the Ballyteague Raheens match. Went to the senior games earlier. Celbridge were very impressive.
