    Love it!

    My team - 'lemag' unimaginatively.

Does anyone want to post their team up before the closing date.

I dont mind showing my hand, just interested to see what people have.
    Ivan BASSO [16] LIQ
    Tony MARTIN [10] THR
    Samuel SANCHEZ [20] EUS
    David MONCOUTIÉ [10] COF
    Mark CAVENDISH [20] THR
    Sylvain CHAVANEL [8] QST
    Thomas VOECKLER [6] EUC
    Blel KADRI [2] ALM
    Philippe GILBERT [8] OLO

Basso - due some form. A poor reason, but my reason nonetheless.
Martin - possibly the only guy capable of beating Cancellara in the TT, also I think HTC could take the TTT on stage 2.
Gilbert could win 3 stages, if all the hype is to be believed. Form of his life. Just found out he bleached his hair. Maybe the tour is a step too far, I hope not.
Like Gilbert, Voeckler has one a lot this year (but those sh!t small races). Always good for a stage or placing or a breakaway.
Chavanel - best thing riding for Quick Step. Will be in many breaks.
    Cav - 3 stages min.
Kadri - very impressive season for a very young team mate of Nico Roche. A domistique that is sent up the road a lot. One to watch for the future.
Sanchez - Will win a stage in the mountains.

    Juan Manuel GARATE [6] RAB

    Nicolas ROCHE [8] ALM
    Peter VELITS [6] THR
    Niki TERPSTRA [4] QST
    Luis Leon SANCHEZ [8] RAB

I picked roche for nationalistic reasons, not sure where he'll actually pick up any points. Or Terpstra. He has lovely form on the bike, but don't see him getting me any points.

I was going to go for Gesink, but thought that Sanchez was better bet for a stage win. Vino, I mean you simply have to love the cold eyed assassin frm the doping cheatiing bast*rd. No matter how much people hate him, I cant bring myself to. Christ he is a very very exciting rider on a bike. He'll wina a stage or die trying.

Despite rumours that he is dodgy, I like Hoogerland. He's like a duracell bunny. Griepel will win SFA. EBH - shingles. Thats serious man.

The points of the rider is meaningless if they win a stage. Surely their should be a handicap system. Such as the riders points are deducted from points gained on stage wins etc. Thus a stage win for a lowly domestique is worth more than one for Contador, Cav etc.

Is the cost of the rider not a form of handicapping?

Is it enough of one though? You can have Cav for 20 points and be in with a shout of winning a host of stages. Or some unknown for 2 points, how may be allowed up the road to win the intermediate sprints or even stay away all day.

    Bradley WIGGINS [14] SKY
    Ivan BASSO [16] LIQ
    Damiano CUNEGO [12] LAM
    John GADRET [10] ALM
    Thor HUSHOVD [16] GRM
    Nicolas ROCHE [8] ALM
    Christophe KERN [6] EUC
    Jérémy ROY [2] FDJ
    Robert GESINK [16] RAB

Wiggins - can't stand him but good value at 14
Basso - well, you'd have to really
Cunego - good form this year
Gadret - it's between him and Roche at ALM
Hushovd - he has the measure of Cav this year
Kern - great performance in the Suisse
Roy - young and keen, but he'll be there at the finish
Gesink - wild card, definitely has a stage win in him

Clenbuterol Steakhouse are back, fresh from a successful Giro.

Panini* Ireland is here also :D Hoping for #1 for one day like the Giro :o

    Alberto Contador [30] SBS
    Ryder HESJEDAL [12] GRM
    David MONCOUTIÉ [10] COF
Jurgen VAN DEN BROECK [16] OLO
    Andre GREIPEL [8] OLO
    Thomas VOECKLER [6] EUC
    Sylvain CHAVANEL [8] QST
    Philippe GILBERT [8] OLO
    Jérémy ROY [2]

I think this is one of my strongest teams I've chosen in the last few fantasy teams. Contador for the overall, VDB & Hesjedal for top 10, Greipel for sprints, Moncoutie for mountains(bit of a gamble?), Voeckler for a bit of stage winning magic like Chavanel :D Gilbert for the uphill finishes and fingers crossed he bags the yellow in the first week ;) And Roy for the underdog :D Really looking forward to this Tour :D

    Levi LEIPHEIMER RSH 12
    Ivan BASSO LIQ 16
    Vasil KIRYIENKA MOV 8
    Fränk SCHLECK LEO 16
    Mark CAVENDISH THR 20
    Anthony CHARTEAU EUC 6
    Luis Leon SANCHEZ RAB 8
    Thomas VOECKLER EUC 6
    Philippe GILBERT OLO 8

Couple of picks that stood out for me; Charteau i picked coz i figured 6 points for last years King Of Mountains is pretty good value. Gilbert at 8 points is fantastic value too. Kiryienka i picked basically coz i didn't have the points to pick Sammy Sanchez. I'm hoping Cav will take at least a couple of stages and i fancy Schleck and Basso to place pretty high in the GC.

I like the look of Blei Kadri though! Good value at 2 points... hmmmm

    Pretty happy with day 1:
Gilbert in 1st, Rojas in 4th, VDB in 5th and Voeckler in 14th.

    May have peaked too soon.

    1st,5th & 10th for me.

I would have had Evans aswell but i changed him yesterday. :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,383 ✭✭✭Aoibheann

Added my "clean" team to the league. Currently the "unclean" team is beating it by about 20 points and three league spots (25th and 28th), not much in it! :pac: If anyone isn't happy with me having two teams in the league, I can remove one. But everyone should comfortably beat 'em both, I forgot to make changes prior to the deadline!
