I got the whole car wiped down, clayed, wiped and washed in less time than it took me to clay the MPS :D

    Pics please! :)

Not sure about the Anodised nuts and valve caps, 2 different shades of blue on the car.

    Car is looking slick though

    A few pics as promised:

    photo5vkr.jpg

    photo4ky.jpg

I've been waiting to clay it since Wednesday and there is a huge difference now. It was very rough and even on the roof, the clay was brown afterwards, a sure sign of the amount of bonded contaminants in the paint.

Now though, it's as smooth as milk!

I also did the exhaust tips the other day. Still can't get some of the carbon/burned oil even after using oven cleaner, scotch pads, wire brush and metal polish :(

Not long, I'll be going for a normal plastic plate, not pressed/German or anything like that :)

Err. aren't those normal plastic plates?

Nope, they're supplied by some wholesaler from NI far as I know, they've got a section on the bottom with the dealer details, I.e it's all one piece

Nope, they are the garage's own plates with their name along the bottom. I'm not in the business of advertising for them. I took their sticker off the rear windscreen yesterday with a heat gun. It made it highly easy compared to the MPS where I used a fecken scalpel. That was a PITA!

I'm getting the new ones from a friend. They're waiting to get their printer serviced before they can print them though.

Ah right. I just assumed that was an extra clip on part or something. Pain in the tits then.

If you had a table saw you could run it through, have done this myself before.

I'm guessing this won't happen in this case though :D

This is the guy that bought everything from the main dealer because otherwise it wouldn't be perfect....

Taking a saw to even the numberplate :pac:

I think the normal pressed plates are nice but I hate plastic plates. Those plates look ok in fairness.

The car is beautiful though I really love it..

The ones I'll be getting have a special font that looks kind of 3D or as though they are pressed. I much prefer the plastic ones though because the metal ones can get damaged a lot easier.

What better way on a rainy Sunday evening than to go out and change a set of drop links.... :D

Buuuuut, look what I got today for the price of a shoelace
    Image2298.jpg

The dusty one is from the car
    Image2299.jpg

Then out with the drop links. What a pig of a job
    Image2300.jpg

    In with the new

Springs needed changing. See how lovingly minded this car was...

This is meant to be part of my hub

Drop links are a pig to do...

    But satisfying when installed

    And coupled with...

No more flopping or banging from the back. Just a little choppier but no loss of comfort :)

When you can twiddle them around in your hand, see the boot has perished and the ball joint is about to fall out, then you wouldn't think that :pac:

    Dated 16 April 1998

Also forgot to add, have another set of normal springs on order :)
