    Well day 12 a shocker.

Took the odds on Tsonga ,took my eye off the selection.
Can't be backing a guy like Tsonga ..ever.
    Down to €353.24 profit now.

Outrights - gone . Total loss on them €90 which i should subtract from the profit.

Goin out , can't listen to Becker and Castle trying to give Murray a chance ...

I hope nobody followed me here on Tsonga (or Murray)

    Day 13, 2nd July Women's Final.

    Hot, Muggy.

    Kvitova to win 2-1 @ 4/1

    Single . Stake €10

Massive Tenner on this match. Couldn't pay me to watch it.

Petra is probably the better player, seems a nice lass and all that but having never been to a final before she could choke and prob will at some stage.

Sharapova could win this game too, could never bring myself to back her with actual cash though, she's just not good enough for a 4/7 shot.

Between the double faults , UE's, screeching and choking by both players, maybe its a 3 setter either way. Hard to justify.

Minus €10 on day 13 with Petra seeing off Sharapova in straight sets.

Been trying to talk myself out of throwing the online account on Rafa 2morrow who is still 4/7 which could be considerd generous. Don't really want to muck about with the set betting 2morrow.

I guess i need more sensible/level headed punters to put me off this move. Otherwise i will end up doing it.

I suspect that this is pretty much the kind of move that gets account's restricted in the first place - I've always been pretty carefull to travel under the radar of this kinda thing .

There is the small matter of Djocko pulling off the upset too.

    Day 14 , July 3rd , Men's Final day.

    Molto Scorchio

    Rafa to Win @ 4/7
    Single. Stake €175

Not a high roller so theres no point in starting now.
€175 to make €100 on the best player in the world will do me.
Since i won't be backing Djocko at any stage in this game , this way, i can still back Rafa at a bigger price in- running if he looses the 1st set. I think this makes better sense.

I regret not tipping and backing him from the start @ 5/2, i was sure Murray wouldn't choke this time.
Maybe if Muzza hadn't missed that sitter when 2-1 up in the 2nd set it might have been a real contest but he did, and it wasn't.
Havn't seen any of the matches where Djocko has beaten Nadal latley, maybe thats just as well as i think its clear who is playing the slightly better tennis at this particular tournament.

Worries would be that Nadal will probably let Djocko serve first for the first 2 -3 sets. Whenever i back Rafa i always wish he wouldn't do this, but thats the way he does things. He may need to break Djocko early to win the first/second sets and this has put me off trying to guess the set betting market.

Very dissapointing end to Wimbledon loosing €175 on the final day and also €20 in running.
Outrights in the shops loss €90 in total.

    Total loss €285.00 in total
    Total profit€343.24 in total

Hardly worth it in the end.I havn't included in - running bets that have won here as i don't think they're relevent to this.

Congrats to Djoko and anyone good/wise enough to back him - was brilliant today.

Was worried about Nadal letting Djoko serve first for the first 2 sets and, that, i think proved decisive.

I've had better slams but you can't win em all and thats the way it goes.

Last 3 days of the log were loosing days, i don't think you can afford a 3 day loosing streak when betting on Tennis, and, certainly every time you bet on a single selection ,you kind of have to win that selection!

Anyway, don't know if i'd try a log next time or not.

In the meantime- i'm off .

Best of luck and i'm sorry if i negatively influenced any loosing bets in these last 3 days, hopefully not.

There is a tennis sticky here now and if i see any odds that are just blatently wrong in the future, i'll log in and stick them up.

    Good luck.

    The U.S Open 2011

Have little to no capital to play or stretch this one 14days . Was hoping to have, but now i realisically need to get really lucky in-running along the way.

Don't have channels, highlights/ broadband that cover this one , so, like a blind man at an orgy, i'm going to have to..... feel things through.

    kunitysn over Bachinger 4/7
    Dodig over Davydenko Evs

Good to see you back Mike, good luck.

No go again for day 2 . Balance -31

Dodig got a leg injury in the first set tie-break. He clearly couldn't win the match after this and wasn't gonna play in the 2nd round. Don't know why he could't just retire and void it.

    Day 4, Round 2, 1st september

    Day 3 went missing somewhere.

    Haas v Falla over 3.5 sets 1/2
    Kukushkin v Granollers over 3.5 sets 4/7
    Anderson over Llodra 2/5
    Halep over Suarez Navarro 8/15

    Acca Stake 20Euro

I don't get away with taking even slight chances anymore so thats why i can't bet Falla to beat Haas instead i'll settle for the set overs. The same applies with kukuskin/Granollers.

Suarez navaro as we know is a clay gal. She seems to struggle on the hard courts so i'm taking the other one instead.
Anderson is the stereotypical hard courtier with the massive serve. If he looses to Llodra today then he should shoot himself.
I don't have the balls to take him -4.5 games @5/6. I lost my balls last week.

I'm sticking a tenner on a treble that might come in about 50 percent of the time but i'm not confident that it will.

    Cetkovska over Ivanovic Evs
    Martic over Pavlyuchenkova 2/1
Potto Starace +6.5 games v Davytanko Evs

    Total combined stake today 30Euro

    Day 5. Round 2 2nd september

    Nalby/Ljubicic
    Darcis/Chela
    Ferrer/Blake

    All over 3.5 sets with bet365 at odds of 1/2, 1/2, 4/6

    Treble Stake 20Euro

Damage limitation . This market always covers a broad enough margin for the odds.

Carrying a 2week loosing streak in with me to this log and counting.
A voided bet at this stage for me would represent significant progress.

    Day 6 ,Round 3. Sep 3rd

    Petko over vinci 4/7
    Byrd overTipsy 2/5
    Tsonga over vedsco 4/9
    Granollers v Ferreo over 3.5 sets 2/5

    Acca Stake 20Euro

I find it difficult to tell if there is value here or if that word even exists at the Us open.
I'd rather take the favs here than go against them though.

Karlovic will prob beat Dolgopo but i can't ever back a one trick pony like that, so i've chosen Petkovic today in the women's and she's the one i'm worried about most. A 1/1O0 shot would worry me atm.

  • Registered Users Posts: 781 ✭✭✭Cartel Mike

Granollers + Bird**** retire leaving the double.
Temporarily stops the rot ,but picks overall have been beyond brutal.

    Day 7, Round 3+4 , Sep 4th

    Stosur over kirilenko 2/5
    Muller over kunitysn 2/5
    Kerber over Niciesku 4/6
    Peng over Penneta 5/6
    Chela v young over 3.5 sets 1/2

    Complete lack of imagination.

    Acca Stake 20Euro

No value really in any of these . Coin tosses all of them.

    Day 7, Round 4 , Sep 5th

    Pavly over Schiovone 4/6
Serena -6,5 games over Ivanavic 8/11
    Tipsy v ferreo over 37.5 games 5/6
    Tsonga over Fishy 8/11

    Acca Stake 10Euro

Don't like these fixtures. I'm not sure of a few of em.
Don't know how Ferreo is playing for eg, but ill trust him to keep it competitive.
Don't like taking Tsonga over just about anyone, especially Fish, but the water creature has a horrible forehand and maybe that impedes him here.
    The women ....pffft.

Serena lets Ana win 7 games.... fairly comical.
This log is comical . Hard to see me break even at this rate.

    Day 8, Sep 6th

    Stosur v zvon over 2.5 sets 6/5

    Simon v Isner over 3.5 sets 1/2
    Murray 3-0 over Young -4/9
    Penneta over kerber 4/11

    Acca Stake 10Euro

    If i had a choice i wouldn't be betting 5folds but i dont, so i am!

I have Murray as current favourite to wreck this one.

Put a tenner on Andy muz to win outright @ 11/2

Not expecting him to though really as he dons't have a coach.
If he does, it'll hardly matter much , if he dosn't , it'll bring the total loss to -106 Euro.

Gonna take the hit and end now before i loose more .

Maybe i get be more enthused about the Oz open in january cause my head just isn't into this one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 781 ✭✭✭Cartel Mike

Truth be told I am a slight bit more enthused about this one. New year.

    2011, 2 slams, net loss €37.76.

Gonna just write down my bets and tot up how much I've lost after first week or so.

Main picks getting beat up here. First Melzer. then Riske and now Peng (which predictive text wrote down as Chang..apologies)and they've lost to some of the worst donkeys to lift tennis raquets.
Wouldn't say I'm miffed, its just from experience it gets harder to turn around.
