Honestly if i was putting together a new loadout it would have to be an M14.
Can be used as an early Cold War gun, Nam, ect, basically then till present. Stick a scope on and you have a DMR for a modern loadout.
But that's me being the penny pincher that I am. :pac:

Aww.... you mean I can't do it to him again? *Sadface*
And you love it bullets :P

On topic remotely... m14, an Ak (type 56, or AKMS), or a G3... all three are the basic stalwarts of the 'unconventional' world. Be you an african warlord, or an sas mustache bearer... they work for lots of loadouts, and are nicely different still these days in the era of magpull.

Is an awful shame about FALs being so expensive & hard to come by.
Don't know what guns you have, but look around some units, might see something like
    http://specialoperations.com/default2.html

Liking the French SF right now myself
    Commando Hubert & RAID

Also Ivory Coast loadout: Galil & Lizard camo :D

    VSS oooooooooooooooh baaaaaaaaaaaaaby

One of the other reasons SOG team used Aks was there distinct sound when fired in comparison to the m16 hence to go unnoticed behind enemy lines if the VC where near by.

I'd go m14 it's a beauty classic looks, great range, versatile and very accurate out of the box....

You'd never tell I just bought another one LOL

or you could go with the Car15 which is not seen much on sites,

I was on the net recently trying to find out if a version of the G3 was used in Vietnam i know they were around and some say the australians groups may have used them in Nam but nothing definite as of yet so if anyone has a link to some facts it would be great. I know they are era correct as such.

My friend has an m14 and I couldn't get one unless I was doing a DMR thing. Too big and awkward.

Marushin are alright... can be finicky, but you'll never get a gas rifle that isnt... The ones I've seen had rather nice range and accuracy.

Its the marushin, abused with asg trademarks, and twice the price.

Not a prototype, a marushin, minus abuse to make people think it will be good. ASG have yet to make a gun, they are a reseller, they buy other people's stuff, put a markup on it, and nasty white trademarks, and sell it on.

Its not a chicom, they use Afgan chest rigs (soviet made, vdv issue. the 'lifchik'.

The older versions from Marushin came in 8mm the newer ones
recently released with the ASG rebranded box are 6mm (I could be wrong though)
