Not a great card but looking forward to seeing Maia and Soszynski again.

That's gas man - out of all the quality on that card (which I personally think is decent) your picking out Soszynski?:D

Maia off his back should be interesting although I never like seeing Munoz lose he seems like a gent.

Will be interesting to see how Kenny Florian gets on in the featherweight division. Think its the fourth class he's fought in? The headline will no doubt be a slugfest with both fighters who like to stand and bang

Ah I was a fan of him on TUF 8 and look forward to his fights, didn't mention anything about him being better than the other fighters :)

Really want to see Chris Weidman again. Very impressed with his debut and I expect him to get the finish this time. Also may watch all of the undercard on youtube, some very decent fights. Poirer Vs Young should be entertaining and hope Joey Beltran can pick up a much needed victory.

Far point Sheehy83 I didn't mean to be picking on you - for what it's worth he has one the greatest nicknames in the entire fight game :-)

The main event will be a war but I don't think it will be a "slugfest". I would presume it would be technical with JDS circling and utilising leg kicks with Carwin trying to pressure and pin him against the cage. If both fighters just stood and threw down it isn't really working in their favour as you could flip a coin to see who is getting sparked.

    JDS by 2nd round TKO.

Vangoz, how much you looking to win if they all come through?

I'd say Carwin would prefer to get in close for some dirty boxing while JDS would prefer to stay on the outside, really looking forward to it anyway. I like Carwin but think JDS will give Cain a better fight in the title shot.

JDS to win by KO or Points at evens is decent, imo.

Interesting set of fights, I'm looking forward to Maia-Munoz the most at the moment, but chances are Munoz won't let it hit the ground.

Agree with bet myself - cardio going to be a big problem for Carwin again...

JDS to technical on the feet against a tired Carwin - he'll drop him.

Pity Brock isn't fighting here anymore, he may have worn a Bruins jersey :pac:

Can't see the main event going into the 3rd round, I have a feeling Carwin is going to catch JDS with a big shot though.

i don't know if it will.

Carwin was 285 for the Lesnar fight. He has cut down to about 255-265 now. Mostly fat loss, so i'm expecting him to have a much better gas tank.

cehck out his training log on youtube, looks much better

290.....will be nice if it comes in, although it never does:mad:

Carwin by KO due to dos Santos getting hit too often. However if JDS survives the first, he wins.
Florian by decision I think, though I'm not too confident in that pick.
Maia over Munoz, possibly by decision.
Einemo by submission, based on his not having lost to Mu Bae Choi.
Cerrone by TKO, much as I hate the thought of it.
    Stout by decision.
Weidman by wrestling dominance and late submission.
Young over Poirier by KO, just for the hell of it. Gotta pick at least one long shot.
Omigawa by ude gatame. Why not?
Soszynski by whatever because I've no interest in this fight.
Nick Ring vs. James Head; I've not seen either guy enough to make a call.
Beltran vs. Rosa, I don't really care.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

Really like JDS however I think Carwin might take the fight however it could be won by the difference of a someone connecting before the other.

Interested to see kenny Flo back in the cage see if he can get sustain a run at a title shot.

Young English fighter on the card should be worth a look too, he came accross well on mma hour.

Can someone tell me how Jon Olav Einemo hereby referred to as JOE can fight with a dead foot? Heard this but it might be just a rumour.

I'm changing my bet to JOE by TKO late in the fight, due to watching his fight against Werdum (bull**** decision btw). I think he'll beat Pee Wee with his counter striking game. Seriously close fight to call though.

stuck this in a bet before ever seeing it here

had planned to go big on it weeks ago but chickened
out as i want to see how the new shane carwin gets on
especially if it goes past the first round
his cardio will surely have improved a great deal but for
him to survive three rounds would be some improvement
ill probably regret not going with my original pick tho
    the price is awful tempting

can a Mod add 'Spoilers' to the title so people can discuss this freely as it happens? I won't be up for it myself, just the prelims, but better to be able to talk about it as it happens.

    30-27?
I had Young winning at least 1 round

    These judges are sh1t!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 723 ✭✭✭ScareGilly

Hmm... Bad judges? Nick Ring? Ring any bells?

See what I did there?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,512 ✭✭✭Oh_Noes

These judges are shocking tonight, I'm glad Beltran fished because I felt that both Young and Omigawa won their fights convincingly yet the scorecards both practically gave 30-27 in the opposite direction. I'm happy Beltran finished his fight because theose judges really look like they're not worth a sh1t.

    Sloppy RNC
Head didn't even try to defend
It was like he just wanted to give up due to the cut..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,963 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

TBH I'd say he was mad to give up but didn't want to tap to strikes.
