Wow €257k?? Money is wasted on some people...
Every couple months a jealous Irish begrudger turns up in this thread, mostly student types, we make choices in life and live with consequences good and bad, welcome to the real world student, hard work and good choices earns money to purchase prize bonds, gosh I'm disappointed, no win for me this week on my 100k, last win 2 weeks ago 9th April, €150 won in 2021 and I can't celebrate in level 5 restrictions, an honest hard working citizen, paying my tax and following the rules, when restrictions end I'm going on holiday and hopefully get to spend my winnings:D

The registration process is a bit antiquated, isn't it? Fill in the application form, wait to receive your bonds in the post, register online, wait to receive a second form in the post, return the signed form, and then wait for another letter which contains a PIN.

I was just coming on to say the same. Fill out a form, of details we already have.

Yeah it seems to be a bit ridiculous.

From reading other posts I was expecting the turnaround time for the entire process to be about ten days. But this appears to be closer to a month, no?

It's shambolic. I submitted three registrations (all with existing SSCN) at the same time over a month ago. One was complete (i.e. all details received and able to log on and see portfolio) in just under three weeks, the second took almost five weeks and there is no sign of the third one being completed.

The registration process is cumbersome, antiquated and is totally over engineered. It is a portal for viewing financial data, not a financial transaction platform. You can register for an N26 bank account in 10-15 mins from scratch. There is absolutely no reason this registration should take longer, in fact given the the volume of personal data that State Savings & The Prize Bond Company already hold in relation to account holders it should take no more than a few minutes. And when all this is combined with StateSavings/An Post/Prize Bond Company/Fexco's appalling administrative inefficiency then its a sure fire recipe for disaster. The NTMA, who have overall responsibility for all of this, have a lot to answer for.

    It's state run.

They outsource everything to the lowest bidder. That's why nothing is straight forward and every other one of there sites required a separate pin/id/password.

Keeps money burning, keeps department budgets growing. Utter tripe.

I sent off that form yesterday. I got 10 bonds in the post today, that I bought in the post office.

Late again but nothing for me last week. Hopefully better luck tomorrow.

It's a bizarre setup alright. I've never come across a company/organisation making it incredibly difficult for you to part with your money. Going by the posts above it'll be a good few more weeks before I can purchase additional bonds.

Got excited when I got an email earlier about a new notification in my account, only for it to be a confirmation of a purchase of bonds I had made last week :D

Nothing for me in March or April, last win 26 February. Five wins in January and February, two being 2 x €50 in the same draws. Last year by the end of April I had seven wins.

I need to cash in on a portion of my PBs. Has anyone done this recently - how long did it take before it was repaid to your bank account?

It depends on what else you want to do with the money. If it’s a contingency fund that you want to keep on a risk free basis with the ability to access it at short notice, then it’s probably as good an option as any other to just leave it there and hope your luck turns.
