For xbmc you need an update, it updates/upgrades from version 0.0.5 to version 0.0.6.

So - are they now showing all 3pm games again? Is this true for both satellite and streaming? Do they still have the english audio/commentary option?

I didn't say it wasn't just that it wasn't necessary (for the XBMC app) :)

Oh, and as it happens, I've just watched the first half of the WBA match using NBC on the web and it wasn't necessary there either ;)

Maybe - but you said "on the web" and that's how I viewed it :)

Premier League Pass is still going strong with me.

Bein 11 had the news channel on this weekend at 3pm.

Star Sports was acceptable for EPL and crystal for La Liga.

NBC under XBMC was alright. Bit buffery for the evening match at the weekend.

No. it had the Liverpool match. I know many who watched that game on that channel.

    In what respect? Presentation?

Weird. Not sure what was going on there then. I definitely recall a 3pm at the weekend and they were showing the Bein News channel. Odd.

Regarding Star, I had a bit of the Arsenal game on. No juddering or buffering, just the bitrate appeared to be well below par. La Liga matches though haven't ever really given any grief.

I had Bein on last night though and the quality was very good. Not up to the standard of the old player, but was certainly close enough. Star was excellent though for the Monday La Liga match.

I'm lost! You recall a 3pm showing Bein News - that doesn't even make sense mate!

Bein News is a standalone channel; Bein 11 shows all PL matches including one 3pm per week. You were obviously tuned to News and thought you had 11 on.

Unless you're referring to a particular platform or pirate provider?

Regarding Star obviously whatever way you're viewing it is the issue as opposed to the channel itself. It might lead to a better understanding of your posts to clarify this :)

Just a DNS service for Star. Maybe the DNS at fault?

Could well be the case for Bein that I got mixed up there. I did switch to 11HD after logging on to the website and it could have lagged or something. Pretty sure it switched though and showed the news channel on 11HD, which I think is what they used to do at one point during the blackout phase?

Cheers for the tips though, if there is something I'm doing wrong along the way it would definitely be good to sort it and make life easier. :)

NBC on Mx2 android box was fine for me tonight until the 30th minute of the Man Utd- Stoke match and then it was buffering every minute or so.

Dont think its an internet issue as I have a very fast line and after the match there was no buffering at all.I used smartdnsproxy .

I have found NBC to buffer on PC using Cyberghost and smartdnsproxy as well in the past .

Unotelly was who I was using with XBMC on an Amazon Fire TV (for NBC). Wasn't the best for me at the weekend. Though I used AV200 homeplugs. Just upgraded them to AV500's last night as it goes, noticed a significant increase in speed already.

Managed to RDP to my home computer today and streamed Bein in a browser on it at near-on 3500kbps bitrate. Before I was getting around 1200 I think, or worse (note I used to get around 3k to 3.5k on the old Bein player and same DNS). Also changed DNS provider so maybe that helped too?

Taking in to account it was over RDP, it looked near-on flawless. Shame the 4.0.7 MENA Android app is muck. Going to give it a shot tonight though and see how Bein, Star and NBC do with the new kit and DNS in place. Would be keen to read how others here get on this evening so we can all compare results. :)

Ok just tried Bein 11 for Chelsea v Spurs and it is the news channel. Definitely lost EPL again.

Anyone else notice that bein sport via satellite seem to have pulled the English commentary from the epl matches apart from the ones on 11hd?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,214 ✭✭✭STG.Otaku

From a desktop/laptop Bein is alright. However the app is now appalling. You need a DNS service AND a VPN service now to even be able to log in to your account.

Even then, if you hook up your phone or tablet etc to the television and full screen the app, it leaves notifications and the time at the top so you don't even get a proper full screen any more.

Just not worth the hassle any more and the picture quality on the app is woeful to. Star Sports, at least for me, is still a champ. Bein don't appear to screen Barca games in English any more so that's me likely done for good with them.

I'm getting contstant buffering ( every 5,10 mins or so ) these days using the NBC XBMC plugin on both Kodi on PC and XBMC 13.3 on Neo X8-H in two different houses ( 160 miles apart ) and it's been the same on all the DNS / VPN providers that I've tried. Both wired & WIFI.

How's the performance these days for everyone else?

P.S. I've never seen more than 2.4Mbit/sec on the Bein Sports connect website on any DNS / VPN and I've 200Mbit + BB in both locations.

Yeah, the NBC web account doesn't seem to be too bad. It's the NBC XBMC plugin that's gone very poor.

Gonna watch the Burnely game on Bein Connect and see how it compares.

I don't think NBC have an XBMC plugin ;)
